Vietnamese for lunch, my mouth is on fire and the serving was so large that I once I had my fill I still had an entire bowl for tomorrow.

    How is everyone’s day going?

Haven’t screamed out loud yet. Can’t promise that will continue, especially the way tomorrow looks.

Work is weird - we’re doing shittonnes of fix ups for our clients where they’ve made mistakes in their specifications, but very few new orders, specially for trusts. Everyone is chewing their fingernails down to the elbow waiting to see what the new legislation re taxation on trusts will be. So I am alternating between running around like a mad thing, and veging out to YT.

It would be a very strange time to be in any sort of finance/investment related role. Alternating between madness and veging out sounds like my normal work day, emergencies are always erratic.

I installed the new jack in the bass I was loaned. The crackle has stopped but there’s now a hum from the amp when I’m not touching the stings. My research says this is normal but it feels weird to my ear.

Dins tonight was salcicci sosiges with potat, carrot & some glorious bottled tomatoes from my lovely neighbour up the street. Plus the usual garlic, ginger, onions etc. Enough left for a pasta sauce for tomozz too. Am feeling v. full and content rn. A glass of a nice traminer may have helped with this feeling of contentment.

I’m sad that Neil Daniher died. It was inevitable but still sad. He spent the sickest years of his life advocating for awareness and research into an awful disease. Hope all the donations lead to some discoveries.

Haven’t heard anything about the interview I had, so I guess I didn’t get the job. Kinda tired of just being ghosted; isn’t hard to just have a template rejection and BCC everyone who didn’t get the role.

But what do I know? I’m just an unemployed idiot I suppose.

Apparently they were wet. There was a fire, everybody is pissed there is no more microwave, and a very bad smell.

You don’t do that sort of notice until after someone did something dumb, and you have to make sure the notice you put up is slightly obscure and not really helpful. Something like “microwaves are provided for heating up food items only. Thanks!!!”

Then people can get upset about how the sign is really obvious so it’s treating them like they’re stupid, then someone else can get upset because it says they can’t microwave their wheat bag and that’s discrimination because they use it for period cramps. After lots of outrage someone will decide you can eat wheat so technically it’s food so heating it is ok. Eventually after everyone is ignoring it anyway the sign will fall off and no one will notice.

At some point after that someone will try to dry their umbrella in the microwave and it will catch on fire, and when they get told off they will claim they had no way of knowing they shouldn’t because there was no sign saying not to.

Thus spake Zarasthustra! I love Terry Pratchett’s story about how he bought a bag of Californian walnuts, and the label stated “May contain nuts”. The uncertainty of it still has me chuckling.

The new keyboard worked as intended at trivia, but the ergonomics were off. It still works perfectly fine so maybe it will be a lounge room keyboard.

There’s another keyboard on Aliexpress I like the look of. I’ll get that one and see how it goes
