However, if your just looking for a selfhosted calendar, NC might be overkill.

Almost no maintenance.

@h3ndrik I can’t really comment on the more advanced features of Friendica, since I don’t use them. :smile:

I installed Friendica on my server just to test a different platform and to post more than 500 characters. That was before I found out how to increase the char limit on my Mastodon instance.

Nowadays I use Friendica mostly to keep up with a few RSS/Atom feeds and also to test the Bluesky AddOn.

Months ago I took a peek at KBin and Lemmy, but since I have no real Reddit background, I don’t have a use case for groups/forums at the moment.

You’re correct. As long as your federating and not actively blocking unwanted content on a user or instance level, that’s gonna be a problem for you and your users.
