I’m curious about the need for non-smart TVs… Are you using it exclusively with a game console or is there some sort of other device you use with it?

I think they meant to imply that the original post (not yours) had suspicious intentions, while the ones you cited were more trustworthy

Linux@lemmy.ml•Encrypted hard drive asking for password every time
6·2 years agoThis reply isn’t going to be helpful to OP, but thought I might add context for others passing by.
I’m using Arch Linux with LUKS encryption and gdm. As long as my user’s password is the same as the LUKS password, I only ever type my password in once.
Just saying that a MacOS-like convenience is definitely possible on Linux.

I usually use Roboto or Inter as my desktop font on gtk/gnome
Mostly okay. My only annoyance is setting up electron apps to use Wayland.
Thanks for the tip. Just to be clear… are these instructions for cleaning the glasses, or the microfibre cloth?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Does Linux even work properly on Dell XPS laptops?
2·2 years agoI’ve found it works flawlessly on mine, with a minor caveat that the fingerprint sensor doesn’t work (some Dell models do, just not the one I got). I’m using Arch Linux on a 9310 2-in-1.
I suggest checking the Arch Wiki The wiki has compatibility notes for many XPS laptops on what works, what doesn’t, and what workarounds may be available. If you’re not planning on using Arch, your distro of choice may have a wiki with that info too.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•for ML engineers: why can't you simply exclude the word "fuck"?
1·2 years agoThat’s alright. You did good simplifying an unrelated idea for the sake of explaining another concept.
