Pilot G2 pens. Not expensive and write well, use them at work and not be too upset if s customer walks off with one.
SAS shoes. Made in Texas, hella comfortable. You can’t buy them online, you have to go to a shoe store and get properly fitted. They also fit the saying about not skimping on things that come between you and the ground.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Will I be able to get on the flight if I don't pay to select a seat?
2·3 years agoNo experience with Ryanair specifically, but airlines do oversell their flights. That said, if you check in as soon as you are able, right at 24 hours before, you should be ok. The people who run into trouble are the ones who wait to check in until they get to the airport.

151·3 years agoSleep Number mattress. Yes it’s gimmicky and expensive, but the ability to adjust softness/firmness according to how my back feels is priceless
iPad. A long time ago when I was an IT drone the boss dropped a 1st gen on our desks and said, “set it up and figure it out, you’ll be supporting it.” 2 weeks later I told my husband he was off the hook for Christmas, I wanted one of these. It’s been my most used entertainment tech since through multiple generations

I hope that comes through as a link. My late husband wore a 10.5 EEEEEE and got most of his shoes there. Once you set up with them you can just order what fits

The Agora@sh.itjust.works•[Discussion] Protecting ourselves from bot instances
1·3 years agoAgree. Defederate

The Agora@sh.itjust.works•[Discussion] Should we defederate exploding-heads.com? (Closing arguments)
3·3 years agoI vote to defederate. The bot swarm by itself would be enough, but the inability of individual users to block instances means that those of us who do not want to see their garbage do not have another realistic option. If Lemmy ever gives user instance-blocking, then I would reserve defederation to botting and to illegal content and allow people to choose who to associate with on their own.

Pulling up to a light that was changing from yellow to red, when a crappy blue hatchback zoomed past me and the car in front of me in the next lane over, through the just-turned-red light. Local cop was first in line at the cross street and pulled out with the lights going. Saw the guy pulled over about a quarter mile down the road. Waved cheerfully.
