I grew up in CA but now live in the southern US. I get really tired of hearing this. Yes, the cost of living is ridiculous and the wildfires are terrible. But it’s actually a lovely place, on balance, and I enjoy my visits. The folks here seem to think CA is a crime-ridden urban hell.

Interesting look at the mayoral race in Montgomery, AL. The incumbent mayor has done a good job, but he’s Black. The White good ol’ boys network has recruited some guy from Florida to run against him and regain their seat of power.

I was also using Mlem & lost it during an update even though I have a new iPhone. I tried Memmy for iOS but it’s kind of terrible. So now I just use the browser.

Muscle memory matters! The original MacOS designers believed this. Now, all software seems to have abandoned this idea.
