2·4 days agoBecause we do the same thing when we’re trying to mess with other countries. Create division and infighting by playing both sides. Create fear so people won’t act. Goad the extremists into violence. If the people are susceptible to being manipulated, they’ll do all the work for you. You won’t even hardly need boots on the ground.
Putin’s still mad about the collapse of the Soviet union. He would love to see that happen to the US.

2·12 days agoDo you understand how voting works? Each person gets one vote. Do you think I, or anyone else, could have somehow forced the 30% who didn’t vote to vote, and not only that but to vote the way we wanted them to? How am I responsible for the choices of people 2,000 miles across the country that I’ve never interacted with? Do I have any control over the propaganda these people are exposed to?
At any given time, only 30-40% of the US is actually represented by the government. At least 30% of us directly voted against all this. Comments like yours make me feel like you’re trying to erase our existence… but I’m sure that’s helpful for somebody.
“other people’s feelings are not my responsibility” can be used to justify treating others badly. As in, I get to say whatever I want, and if you don’t like what I say about you, that’s entirely your problem.

What are you calling the imperial core? No one uses that term in the US. I have no idea what you’re talking about.
From what I remember, Quorn is not actually vegan, the breading contains egg. Unless they’ve changed their recipe…

Sudden or rapid weight gain or loss can certainly indictate other health problems. I’m guessing you’re in Europe? Being weighed is standard practice in the US at every appointment. Maybe it’s just for tracking obesity nationwide, or could be for insurance purposes (the provider’s insurance, not the patient’s).

Are there actual rules about noise in the hallway? If there are, is she aware of them? Is there anyone who could potentially enforce those rules other than you? If there are no rules, then it could just be a cultural difference, and good luck to you trying to enforce your own rules in public spaces. You think it’s entirely reasonable to have a silent hallway, but maybe the other lady has never lived in a quiet place her whole life. Maybe she can’t see why you would want that at all.
