  • You can control the mpd stream remotely via malp: https://gitlab.com/gateship-one/malp

If you can connect to your home network via VPN you could also try to play from the remote music library via Samba share. This will not give you offline playback support though, which most Subsonic compatible clients support.

I never used it but if you’re willing to pay for Symfonium you can directly connect it to a Samba share. Or WebDAV, if you’re running Nextcloud anyways. This will give you offline caching as well. Don’t have any personal experience, but sounds convenient. Wish there was a FOSS music player with such a broad cloud storage support. Not having to run a dedicated music streaming service sounds great.

  • Thanks for the insightful response!

Switching to a different layout was the solution for the redgif vids not showing in the feed. Thanks a lot!

Regarding the confirmation before seeing the redgif videos: this really seems like a bug to me. I have “Blur NSFW” turned off, I have the NSFW filter option off, NSFW posts are showing up in my feeds. Including redgif videos now, they start autoplaying. But when I open the same redgif post that was autoplaying in the feed in the single post view it asks me to confirm before showing the video. Like I said, the only way that I found to change that behavior is the turn on NSFW mode.

  • You’re right, going for asphixation is more dangerous than many folks assume, especially since it has become quite normalized through porn. Most porn scenes and I assume most more vanilla folks at home don’t restrict blood flow, they just put their hands on the neck without much pressure for the feeling of domination.

If you still want to engage in actual breath play… There are good resources on the risks and different techniques of choking and breath play out there, don’t put actual pressure on a persons neck without informing yourself and talking about the risks. One variation is to instruct a person to hold their own breath once you touch their neck, so you still are only simulating a choke without actually putting pressure on the neck.
