I mean, if they don’t have permission, and aren’t sovereign citizens of the island/country, that’s an invasion. I’m sure artillery would dissuade the company from encroaching.

I don’t understand. So chat control was guaranteed unless this vote was successful, vs. having to be voted into existence? How’d that even happen?

NY Governor’s office kills it in 3…2…1…

Also, who enforces it when a rogue sheriff is the one committing said felony?
As in the poles are greased? Is that a thing?

They are repeating the cable/broadcast ad service network playbook. All this shit has already been regulated on normal TV, and wasn’t an issue with streaming because before, streaming didn’t have ads like this. Now that they’ve normalized paying monthly fees AND being lasted with ads, the regulation has to play catch-up again. This should be something the FCC regulates, but good luck in this administration.

I mean, Micron for sure did, when they “exited consumer RAM to focus on data centers” at a point where overall RAM was at peak demand. That’s a supreme intent to create artificial scarcity.

So now LEO’s will just buy the data, instead of getting warrants, right?

The fact that it can do it in the first place means it can do it at all. Just because they require the selection now, doesn’t mean they aren’t harvesting telemetry 24/7, and won’t “accidentally” enable this feature later.

This sounds a lot like fingerprinting under the false flag of making user experience better.

What about SEC investigations? Like, into the empire of crypto scams they are running…

But was the GPU OK? That’s gold right there.

Speech to Text -> NLU -> Ordered summarized -> human for review (we hope?) -> order placed. They are using these to reduce the labor demand on the human portion, and I presume at some point the “to human for review” will just go away, if they get the accuracy dialed in.
The shitty part is, it’s not like they are saving much money, since those jobs pay shit anyways. I have to wonder what the ROI is on replacing the electronics and hooking all that up, plus the R&D that went into the system itself, is.
Those numbers are so not reality. $2K/month is nowhere near the payment for the first one.

He spent Biden’s entire presidency calling him Sleepy Joe?

Now I envision cops just straight up jacking people’s Rx glasses under suspicion of being recorded, like they do with phones already.

The people working in DC’s are not the ones that need this treatment, they are just trying to get by like the rest of us. Data centers existed before AI demonized them, and the same people work there now as before. The owners, however, yeah, eat those rich pigs.
Well, the good news is, there are no calls, because your application isn’t going to see a human in most cases.
