With a little creativity, Fedorov could have become Fedora!

Linux@lemmy.ml•Which distro should I use on my Framework 16"? GNOME is a must, but each has trade-offs...
1·24 days agoCachyOS might be, at worst, as difficult to use as Arch, and at best, a really convenient way to get Arch Linux’s benefits.
Daily-driver here. The only issues I’ve faced are with Bluetooth on cosmic-panel not working as expected.
Happy cake day!

AGPL3.0, according to this repo.

The log reading workaround seems to solve that issue in my case. The only catch is that I need to allow this permission once (there’s a graphical prompt - the adb commands aren’t needed) when I start the app for the first time, or after force-quitting the background app.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•To Lemmy people who came from reddit: Have you guys tried other fedi software like mastodon or sharkey?
1·8 months agoPerhaps it’s because I haven’t subscribed to a lot of communities here (Lemmy), but I find Mastodon (and Sharkey by extension due to their federation with Mastodon instances) more active than Lemmy.
I’ve got an account in programming.dev (Lemmy), fosstodon.org (Mastodon) and fedia.social (IceShrimp ≈ Sharkey, loosely). I’ve also got a very inactive Reddit account.
Getting rid of Windows, Instagram and Reddit, switching to Linux, Mastodon (not a direct comparison) and Lemmy.
Valent is a (nightly) Flatpak that implements the KDE Connect protocol.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but wouldn’t it be more convenient to just use DankMaterialShell for a more complete Material You shell?
