I’m not an expert, but I never understood why people would prefer PoS over PoW. Indeed, the latter requires to “waste” larger amounts of energy, but doesn’t PoS favor rich groups of people colluding against the blockchain timeline?

Open Source@lemmy.ml•What open-source Android apps should people know about?
2·3 months agoI completely agree with you. I am just frustrated at the fact that everything seems to get rotten sooner or later.
Just for the record, I personally use Vanadium on Android, which is what comes by default in GrapheneOS. So far I am happy with it as well.
I also keep an eye on ladybird, but they still have a long road to walk before i consider it a viable option for my day to day.

Games@lemmy.world•I finally decided to go full piracy against big companiesEnglish
8·5 months agoI don’t know if its the age or perhaps I unconciously became sick of the practices OP describes, but the games I genuinelly enjoy playing the most nowadays are mainly AA or Indie. And ofc, I don’t mind paying full price for them.
A non-exhaustive list of those I loved:
- Outer Wilds (became my favourite game of all times)
- Inside/Limbo
- Little Nightmares
- Sifu
- The standley parable
- Still awakes the deep
- Gris/Neva
- Firewatch
- Journey/Abzu/The Pathless/Sea of Sword
- Rainworld
- No man’s sky (a special case, I know)
- Cocoon
- Unravel
- Stray
- Below
- Far
- Pacific Drive
- The invincible
lmao, i handed it on a plate

1·7 months agoI am not an expert so don’t quote me here, but I think there are ways of bypassing the agent switcher/spoofer (like chameleon) revealing the true browser you are using… that would actually make you MORE fingerprintable.

Boycott US@lemmy.ca•I cant wait to remove all the american products from my life!English
1·11 months agoAll apps I need for banking, 2 factor authenticator, etc work in my GrapheneOS phone, with the exception of one particular app used for ID authentication in the country I reside. The reason is bc this app uses Google’s Play Integrity API to check the phone’s OS, and since it does not match with Google’s Android OS, it stops working since it does not pass integrity checks. As far as I know, there are few apps that do this, and as time passes more apps are moving towards hardware-attestation tests, as GrapheneOS facilitates, instead of relying Google’s Play Integrity. For me this is not an issue, because the government provides other means for ID authentication, but some other countries only relies on apps, and that might be a show stopper.
