But like, with a “spell-checker” or a “spellchecker” or a “spell checker”?

Writing new code: Dark theme so that the bugs stay away.
Debugging: Light theme so that you can catch them.
Someone could make an app so that the dark-mode is only activated when you have a key pressed.

Linux@programming.dev•Why printf is superior to echo in Linux scripts
30·23 days agoI liked this part:
As a rule of thumb, use echo for quick, interactive output and one-off checks. Use printf in scripts, logs, and anywhere output format matters. If you ever find yourself relying on echo options or escape sequences, that’s usually a sign that printf is the better tool.

Linux@programming.dev•NTFSPLUS Linux Driver Renamed To Just "NTFS" With Latest Code Restructuring
2·24 days agoOnly reading the title it sounded confusing, but after the explanation it sounds like a bold move.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•[Answered] Does Lemmy need a fork or a rewrite due to its maintainers views?
41·29 days agoLemmy works over ActivityPub, which is the thing that provides the federation, and what people has been accostumed to call Lemmy as a whole. But there is more software that works with AP. No need to create a copy, other software can do similar things (for example: mbin, piefed, mastodon, etc).
Thinking skills, why would those be needed?
Pure code tutorilals but nothing about the environment is why it took me so much to get started in programming.
Under-feathered fossils again SMH. /jk

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How much are you willing to inconvenience yourself to save money?
5·30 days agoI don’t think that the question aligns that much with how I usually think, I usually think of spending as the inconvenience itself.
WSL -> Windows Subsystem for Linux❌
WSL -> WeaSeL ✅

Which reminds me how “commit” is right but “ammend” is wrong. I hate it.
