They look great but, aside from canadian geese, are some of the most aggressive birds I’ve come across. Once while running on a regularly used pavement path one came and attacked my head. Another time on a different way more well used walking path over a marsh I was repeatedly dive bombed and screamed at to the point I yelled back, “I’M ALLOWED HERE TOO!” Which of course did nothing to help.

  • Are we talking primary care visits? Who doesn’t schedule them? Are there any countries where you can just walk into a doctor office and they magically have your tests and records just ready in-hand? Of course not, you make appointments. Same with operations and other medical procedures.

In my province in Canada we have digital records. While there are some hiccups as a couple of systems merge to one I can see a doctor in the emergency room and then go see my GP the next morning and both the emergency room staff and my GP have access to all of my tests and records.

There are still issues with long waits but in my experience if you have a long wait its because your issue is not extremely urgent and while waiting sucks its better than needing the care urgently.

  • Not only does this happen with TV/movies I get it with everything. Whether or not I’m trying to pay attention.

The worst is being unable to process a word or two when someone is talking. I’ve tried all sorts of strategies, almost always the person talking restarts from the beginning and I cannot process the exact same bit. I’ve asked a speech pathologist I was seeing about it. She had not heard of it and said she couldn’t find anything the next week either.

  • Like others in the thread my smart devices only talk to locally hosted home assistant. I use a few automations to make things easier. My favourite is being able to run open garage door while approaching my house. It opens the garage door and unlocks the door from the garage to the house. I could manually do these steps but it is nice to be able to carry whatever directly from the car to the house without needing to unlock the door.

The other nice one is automating the holiday lights. I would forget to turn them on or off regularly. Since adding the automation they turned on every evening and off around bedtime every night. I have used one of those light sensor units in the past, but it would often get covered in snow and stop working until I remembered to brush it off.
