It may be. But it’s not insanely complicated to synthesize NH₂CONH₂, and it’ll be far more pure than getting it from an animal’s waste. You just need ammonia, carbon dioxide, and some equipment (and know how to use said equipment without exploding things, so best to outsource the production).

That’s the thing about chemicals, though. Ammonia from a penis is the exact same thing as ammonia from a factory. Countries tend to prioritize themselves over other countries. That’s kinda what countries are.

But regardless of whether it excuses it or not, it makes it not hypocritical. You can be selfish, and even immoral, without hypocrisy.

I suspect it’s because they feel one is a threat to their own sovereignty, while the others are only a threat to that other countries.

If that’s the case, it’s not hypocrisy.
