  • If the rules aren’t enforced against them, then they absolutely do not apply to them

It’s not really a pedantic thing, but it kind of is.

The rules apply, if they didn’t they wouldn’t still give a fuck. They’d be having Epstein parties on the South lawn for everyone to see. If for no other reason than doing it in the open is more extreme than doing it in secret.

Currently consequences do not apply, because they’re not being held accountable.

But the rules do, or else they wouldn’t be hiding it. You think it’s shame that’s keeping trump from admitting all this shit? He’s afraid because there’s still a chance that consequences could show up, because the rules do still apply. They’re just not being enforced at this moment in time that’s not as long and ending as you seem to believe

    It’s cute

    Sorry, not interested.

  • It was bad and everywhere.

Like, right now America is like 20-35% Maga, after 9/11 it was literally 99% of Americans that were cool with anything Dick Cheney wanted. Absolutely zero accountability and a blank check against any citizen who wasn’t fully behind the government.

Hell, I wore a “bad cop, no doughnut” shirt to highschool the year after 9/11, and got sent home for being unpatriotic. Even though no one could explain how that wasn’t patriotic or why it would be an issue even if it was.

We were invading countries left and right and killing an insane amount of civilians in other countries.

The reason trump seems much worse right now, is because he doesn’t have that level of support. That’s why he’s trying so hard to convince people we’re under attack. He wants a 9/11 or 10/7 sort of event so he can get that 9/11 level of support. Then shit is gonna get real fucking bad.

  • It’s so if you don’t support the IDF, you don’t support your own children.

If service wasn’t mandatory, the IDF wouldn’t get away with as many war crimes to their own populace

You get everyone’s hands dirty, and no one wants anyone held accountable, because most have done something wrong

Same way authoritarians always want a society where laws aren’t enforced so everyone commits them. The goal isn’t a crime free society, it’s a society where the govethas an excuse to arrest anyone they want

  • You know what they say: the best time to build a time machine is 50 years ago.

I think that’s basically the movie Primer too, they’d turn the machine on, go hide in an apartment for X amount of time, then go back to the machine and emerge 5 minutes after they turned it on and just walked away.

But gravity effects time, sticking close to a planet isn’t going to be hard.

Ironically enough the first (if we ever get them) time machines are going to be a hell of a lot like modern “UFOs” are described. You couldn’t risk landing on the planet, elevation changes are what’s really a nightmare to account for. Show up and hour early and everything is a foot higher because of how fast we’re spinning.

So you’d want a space craft, because space is big and empty. And realistically it’s going to take something bigger than a telephone booth or even the 1980s embodiment of Florida on four wheels with a hood designed to do cocaine off of to house a time machine.
