New year used to be the start of spring (March) then the Romans decided to acknowledge the first 2 months, and then changed the start of the year to January so they could elect some officials to govern Spain instead of waiting an extra 2 months. There’s been a long standing theory that when Ferrari make good road cars, they make bad F1 cars. Seems like great hypercars means terrible F1 cars.

It wasn’t just the engine. They didn’t know how hopeless the car was before running in quali, and needed to break parc ferme to change the cars setup, which would have been a pitlane start regardless of engine change. The engine was more an added bonus.
