This is pretty close but I’ll have to find the sheet music to see if there melody was simplified for a music box mechanism (comb.) The song is just old enough its possible a music box company used the melody, which is super common with music box mechanism makers, so it could’ve been in the box I’m thinking of (early 1990’s.)

I had been thinking it was based on a polka but I can hear how it could be a simplified version of something latin. The theory thus far has been it’s some kind of polka but I’m not totally sure. Not being a professional musician means my examples lack the proper tempo to really be certain. Plus reducing any song down to a music box comb reduces it so much its hard to glean stylistic clues from it.

Not it I’m afraid. Even tried the similar songs google recommended. It could be a waltz but I suspect its actually based on a polka.

Another one of the pregnant women who died on 9/11 had an office in the south tower but managed to escape before it was hit. She actually got to the ground floor and exited the building as it began to collapse. They found her body less than 10’ away from an alleyway where she would’ve survived the collapse and falling debris.

Several people that actually made it out of the building eventually were killed by debris. I’ve heard of accounts from other people about someone in their group being struck after having made it down and out of the towers.

Theres always more. Like 2997 people died and they all have a story. I’m a regular 7 of 9-11 when it comes to this stuff.

Like the exec who only survived because he went down to meet a client in the lobby (security was tight after the 1993 bombing and visitors usually required an escort) which his secretary normally did but he did it himself this one time because she was 8 months pregnant and he didn’t want to put her through the hassle since she was so preggers she was due to start her maternity leave at the end if the week.

Also one of the producers of Frasier was on flight 11 returning to LA from a brief stay in New York. He flew this route so regularly that in one episode they actually mention flight 11 by name as a minor plot point (since up to 9/11 the morning cross country flight from NYC to LAX was always designated as flight 11.)

They retired the designation after 9/11 for obvious reasons.

The original I posted did in fact have glaring brightness and color differences. It’s cause I took an older meme and added to it using screen caps I found online which admittedly didn’t match very well.

One of them had a dad who worked at the Pentagon but took the morning off to drop his son off at the airport. Right before he left his son confessed he was nervous since it was his first time flying on a plane. His dad assured him he had nothing to worry about as flying was the safest form of transportation.

Not really sure. Some stuff like the hurricane screws is something typically only for new builds. Stuff like storm shutters are fairly common add-ons in Florida. All these tweaks are added costs, adding extra insulation in colder climates adds costs too but the point is that modern construction techniques have evolved to address pretty much every scenario you can think of. Thats why things like shipping container houses are stupid.

Really happened. They were from a fairly well off Irish family and the sister got into selling makeup or something to wealthy families in New England. The brother got into software in the 1990’s and did pretty well for himself because of that. The sister wanted to take a vacation with her daughter to Disneyland and they invited one of the friends she’d made over the years, who I suspect was also wealthy enough to go on an impromptu vacation.

The friend of the family couldn’t get a flight on 175 (not sure why not but likely because she was using frequent flyer miles and didn’t have them for United but could use them on American Airlines–this part is my speculation but I wonder why she couldn’t get a seat on 175 cause there were plenty available so I assume it was something like what I theorized.) Since both non-stop flights left at about the same time they’d arrive in Cali at the same time so they were going to meet up at the airport. There was little chance of either plane running into weather delays or anything on account of the fantastic weather across nearly the entire USA that morning.

The brother had a meeting that morning which got changed from some random hotel to the WTC. Since he was in the software business it’s not surprisingly it got changed to a high end venue in New York. I mean a finance software conference was taking place that morning on 106 so such things were common. As he told it he was reciting the Lords prayer with the woman who was burned right as the plane carrying his sister and niece hit.

Sadly, the burn victim died something like 30 days later from sever burns all over her body. Definitely one of the stranger tales from that day but not to break the ice with during a party.

Ebay is still the best. It sucks that local thrift stores are such garbage these days. Goodwill, Salvation Army, Knights of Columbus, they’re all pretty crummy these days. Goodwill went super corporate and became more like Big Lots (buying unsold department store stock) rather than a perpetual garage sale like it used to be. And prices for anything good are Ebay level.

Facebook marketplace seems to be a bunch of scams these days, not to say it isn’t useful for some stuff but I’ve noticed niche items are often scammers/fakes. Not sure what their goal is. Craigslist depends on location but in my area it’s shit now.

So since Ebay charges to list and sell stuff it’s still best since that weeds out most scammers and you’ll probably be paying Ebay prices wherever else you look at these days.
