Yes, I can log successfully into the server but sync didn’t happen when I first logged in, nor does it happen when I hit the Sync Now button in Settings.

The Sync Now button does give me the rotating bezel type image suggesting it’s doing something but it doesn’t then populate the app with any albums or other information.

I usually use Finamp and it’s all working fine with the same server details. I’ll keep playing around with it to see if I can work out what’s going on.

Giving the TestFlight a spin. I’m logged into my server on Dorsal successfully, although it doesn’t seem to be syncing. I have about 8,000 albums on my server so maybe it’ll just take a while.

I’ve tried CWA in the past but, for some reason (probably my own fault!), I could never get the Kobo Sync function to work. Maybe I’ll give it another go.

As a stopgap for now, I have all my ebooks in Audiobookshelf. There’s no sync function, but I’m used to the UI because I already use and like it for audiobooks and podcasts.

Well, that went downhill very fast. Very sad. I liked the UI too; it was a good way to manage a collection; and it synced with my Kobo pretty easily.

I hope those who have the ability to do so will create something from its ashes.

Reading this whole thread I’m now glad I have Audiobookshelf already. I already use it every day for audiobooks and podcasts, but hadn’t considered it for ebooks.

Just transferred my ebook collection from Booklore to ABS. I’ll miss the Kobo Sync which seems to work in Booklore, but I certainly won’t miss the AI and vibe coding!

Well, it takes a while longer to fix. The only times it’s happened (perhaps twice in 6 months) it’s been when a family member has been trying to buy something from a website. I can also access the Pi-hole remotely and—in the worst case scenario—just turn off blocking altogether for a short period.

Yes, that does sometimes happen but the frequency depends on the blocking list used, or if multiple lists are used. When a family member encounters something like this, I can usually quite quickly identify the relevant blocked item and whitelist it.

Yes, that’s right. It would only work with TV over the internet and not with a digital signal transmitted direct to the TV via aerial.

One major advantage is that on the domestic TV channels here in the UK which have ad breaks (essentially all of them except the BBC) it removes the ads altogether and the programmes run seamlessly from the part before the ad break into the part after. I still smile every time it happens!
