  • His ego and his pocketbook are all that matters. Arguably all that ever has. Any time you think “he did what?” consider who is paying him or stroking his ego. That’s all it is.

New ballroom? Ego. Stripping environmental protection? Pocketbook. Invade Venezuela? Pocketbook. Ice Gestapo? Ego. He doesn’t care anything for America. He cares for the slice that lets him line his pockets and feel like a big strong boy. There is no heart, there is no morals, it’s him, his ego, and the wallet he sits on.

  • Zero tolerance era. Grade school (I think 4th?) I’m reading one of those books that’s just like “Medieval History” with a bunch of pictures and the history on what the items was. (I think this one was about spies or James bond or something). Kid comes up to me actively reading and says “I was reading that, you took it from me!” Basically escalates it to “I’m gonna fight you” and starts sort of dragon ball z style punching me in the stomach a bunch of times really fast. Parents told me not to let that slide and to fight back, so I cock back and punch him in the face. Right as the teacher walks through the door. I was in 4th grade, I didn’t deck the kid, but I did hit him. Whole deal, go to the office, explained what happened. “Zero tolerance, 3 day suspension”

Dad asks what happened, explained, got 3 days off school at home fishing and playing video games. Best time I had at that school, also completely broke my faith in that system, so win win.

  • It’s always interesting to see the people who advocate against divorce too. Divorce should be banned? What’s your ex-wife’s story? Oh you regularly screamed at her and abused her and treat her like a live in slave so she left? Sounds like you just didn’t want her to be able to get away from your useless ass.

  • Honestly it’s really concerning the number of hyper sexualized ads I’ve seen. There are still plenty of other ads, but the fact that those “I’m an AI with no filter” or ads that are just straight up animated porn with the camera pointed slightly off screen is concerning.

Sex sells, whatever, but there’s some of these ads that I can almost guarantee are being shown to children that should normally be in a sex shop behind a curtain, but here they are being shoved into a childs phone.

  • I don’t know if she was a troll or a narcissist or whatever everyone else claims. But she did seem to be a little nuts, or at least tone deaf. You can see in that performance with John and Chuck Berry where she just starts sort of screeching in the background on mic for no reason she was at least a little unhinged.

You can call it avant garde, you can say she was annoying, etc. Etc. but she did seem to just shove herself into Johns limelight a lot. There are plenty of other spouses that are just happy to be with their partner, and go with them, but she clearly was intent on shoving herself into the spotlight with him, through whatever means she felt was accessible.

  • Funny enough, those have actually been around for a while, I remember seeing them as a “smoking alternative” sometime around 2013? But pretty sure they were around before that. Also aren’t zyns or whatever still popular? Why not just stick with that?

Nicotine was bound to stick around though. It’s basically a “legal” mini-high and doesn’t have all the smell and cancer stigma (yet, pretty sure those things still ruin your lungs) that traditional burning cigs do. That industry wasn’t gonna fold without a fight.

  • I know ICE has a reputation of doing whatever they want, but in an effort to provide the most civil option possible:

    1. Have your family keep their papers on them at all times. In the house, in the yard, wherever. You get out of bed, your papers are in your pocket, in bed, they’re right there next to you. Ideally add some extra notes (people to contact, names numbers and addresses if you have them) and keep that with it.

    2. Talk with family and friends and make contingency plans. Have a place to say you’re from or find out where people are getting deported to, reach out to family/friends out there (if you have any) and have them aware of your concerns. Save up money to be ready to travel if you need to reunite with them.

    3. Talk as a family. Explain what could happen, and help them to understand what to do. Fire drills save lives in an emergency. This is no different.

I can’t promise a solution, I certainly wouldn’t recommend trying to fight with a gun if anything happens, all it will do is add fuel to their fire and get someone hurt. But being prepared to ride out a storm is always better than being stuck out in one in the open.
