I think it was the atmosphere more than anything. I don’t think I was able to watch more than a few eps. It was a long time ago tbf!

This may be extremely silly, but Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni traumatized me in a way no other anime has. I couldn’t even finish it! And the scary thing was no other than the eponymous sound of the cicadas. To this date, no summer passes by in which I’m not reminded of the dread I felt upon hearing the cicadas chirping…
Don’t let them fool you! I saw all first season (20-something eps), anm while it’s true he ends up growing a bit, it’s not much, or at least so it was to the point I saw. Not sure if it’s even worth it to have to endure 20 episodes just to get to “the good part”.
I was waiting for the sale to buy Elden Ring or DS3. Been wanting to replay them, this time with mods. But it seems they skipped this sale… of course they did.

So far, my while I’ve like a lot Yomi no Tsugai and Kill Blue (among other less notable mentions), my fav anime this season has been Ramparts of Ice. I wasn’t expecting much at first, but without a doubt it has become the weekly release I look forward the most.
I was also looking forward to Witch Hat Atelier, but I think it’s not for me. I think this is very much controversial (for some reason I honestly can’t relate), but I hated that certain character not only got scot-free for what was basically attempted murder, but apparently such character also becomes important and never really faces any consequences for her actions. No, thank you; I like my fantasy to help me escape from the world’s injustices, not to glorify them.

Yeah, me too here. No website is important enough to need to endure ads for.

I’m a bit lost with all the recent developments, but in the end, does this mean that installing from, say, F-droid or similars won’t be possible at all?
Sorry for the stupid question; it’s getting harder to keep up with all the bad developments in the world.

I don’t think the devs are interested in that… considering that the game’s been out for a while, and even has DLC, I think that’s the gameplay the dev wants. Which, again, it’s not inherently bad, just not aligned with what makes a game fun for me.

Started playing Monster Train 2. Loved the first one, but oh boy, 2 is such a let down for me. Feels like it’s poorly balanced, on both player and enemy sides, and it’s just an exercise in finding the most BS broken stuff rather than properly strategy.
It’s not a bad game, mind you; it’s just that perhaps my expectations and the game were not aligned.

No, libra (the unit of mass), and libre (being free) have unrelated origins, afaik. Libra comes from scales, as in the Libra constellation, wheveas libre comes from liber, related to freedom (and not books (or “libro” in Spanish); that’s a different word), which apparently comes from even older languages, meaning “town” or “people”.

So this season’s finished already? With only 10 ep?? Rather short if so…

Not sure if it fits, but Dragon’s Crown from Vanillaware may be worth checking out. It’s not as goofy, and as many Vanillaware games the design of the characters may not be your thing, but it’s a fun beat 'em up with repeatable content that feels fresh every time.

After the disappointing ending of the manga, I just lost all interest in the anime too. Really hoping they take some creative liberties and rewrite that ending, but I know I’m just coping.
It’s called Theater of the Mind, I think. It used to be the way we played ADnD, but I guess that the newer editions pushed the minis-and-grid with their more tactical playstyles.
Thanks for this. I was about to ask if Japanese input was supported. Why is it so hard to find a good keyboard for both Japanese and English? I usually have to end up sacrificing convenience in one or the other.

I wanted to play this game so badly, only to find out the game does not come with English language in my region… why do companies love to do this? Is it that hard to add the languages you already have translated for other countries? I’ll even pay it as dlc if needed! Just save me the hassle (and extra cost) of importing the game.

On that note, I completely recommend the second compilation of other short stories, Exhalation.

I mean, to be fair, 8 episodes at 1 hour each is more or less the same runtime that 20 episodes of ~20 min each. The problem is not the amount of episodes, it’s just bad direction.
Nothing beats suddenly hearing the big monster’s theme morphing into Proof of a Hero when you are close to winning in Monster Hunter.
Not dropped entirely, but Ceave Gaming. I haven’t been able to finish a single one of his latest videos, and while I once liked the convoluted way he approaches topics, lately I just want him to get to the point. His latest challenge vids are also fun, but I don’t know, I just can’t stomach them for long anymore. Not sure if it’s just me having less free time or patient, or something more intrinsically in his vids, but I guess at this rate I’ll be unsubscribing soonish. :(
