As article says (and IIRC from other sources) it’s the offshore turbines that pose the most risk to birds, and mostly to gliding fishing birds (bald eagle, osprey) because they barely see in front of them (they are looking down) and do not expect obstacles on open water.
Recently learned that “unlocked phone” ≠ ”unlocked bootloader". Purchased an older OnePlus model that was listed as “Unlocked T-Mobile”. Had to submit fastboot unlock key and other data to an online tool, got no response. Contacted support with the same info, they responded after several days saying “the unlock code you sent us is invalid” and “this is an older device and we have no way of unlocking it”. Such reaponsibility from manufacturer.
FYI flashing a (hacky) Global ROM (in place of original T-Mobile/Metro/whatever) using official MSM tool allows fastboot unlocking without a code.
I think most larger (or older) immigrant communities have their own dialect. Runglish is Russian spoken with lots of words borrowed-adapted from US English.

TLDR: bare Synapse was fine on 1CPU 1GB RAM VPS, but uses lots of disk space (from large rooms). Current/future ESS requires Kubernetes and several services to be functional.

This is a commonly repeated falsehood. “Robota” in Czech (and many slavic languages) means work. So it’s a worker at that.

I read first few stories from Asimov’s I, Robot, and, holy shit, his robots are pretty much stand-ins for slaves. They are property, get threatened with violence, are forbidden to be in the streets at night, and some models even address their owners as “master”. But none of that is addressed anywhere, it’s some convoluted logic puzzles instead. So I don’t know if author was oblivious or thought such things are OK because they are not humans (terrible slippery slope to go on).

Supporting software designed for different platforms is not the phone’s responsibility. It should be the government and bank developers’ responsibility to build software for platforms their citizens and customers use.
Android and Apple do not jump through hoops to run Windows desktop software, for example, and the notion is kind of absurd to begin with. Yet this argument is used for Linux smartphones all the time.

I have ran Synapse natively on 1 CPU 1GB RAM VPS for years. But it fills up a lot of disk space, eapecially with larger rooms, so get at least 100GB? (I had 20GB on my VPS, and with 4 regular users, was using up 15GB)
If you are looking at (new) official ESS Community, they recommend 2 CPU, 2GB RAM minimum for Kubernetes.

AFAICT restaurants were few, expensive, and difficult to get into (i.e. not for regular people on regular basis), and the option for regular people would be stolovaya (cafeteria?) which is simple, probably mediocre food.
