I met Rocco at a party for the release of the 2nd Boondock Saints DVD. He and some of the other cast gave quick speeches and then just kind of hung out with the crowd. Super, super cool guy. Easy going, humble, down to Earth. Just one of those people that could make friends with anyone.
I try not to hate people, as a rule. I don’t want to hate anyone, but I do sometimes and I spend lots of time thinking about why that might be and how I can stop. It’s usually pretty simple. Our government makes it so, so fucking difficult to manage that.
For almost any other crime I would agree with you, but in this case I think we need the spectacle. No one should give a flying fuck about a pedophile’s reintegration after a punishment. Especially not for the folks who organized, facilitated and profited from said pedophilia.
Those of us who understand and respect the American Constitution down it’s tenets and principles, are so dejected that we need to see some perp walks to believe justice exists at all here.
Its all just words on paper. It’s the actions and accountability of our government that make justice real. Sure it was never perfect; definitely needed lots of improvement. But without accountability, it’s gone. The fabric is unwoven. I don’t believe our government is hostile enough towards the pedophiles that run it right now, so these shitbirds need to make me believe again.

You’re right, but it’s definitely different depending where you live. I went to a high school in the New York suburbs that was largely Jewish. If I had to guess I’d say 30%, with the rest being a mix. We had holocaust survivors come to speak once or twice while I was there. I graduated in 06. Our teachers did not skimp on any of that. The stats were certainly focused on jews, but they also didn’t leave anyone out.
I happen to believe his toddler responses are what makes him popular.

Don’t get involved with people who enthusiastically shit on others’ ideas, while having none of their own. Can’t count how many times I’ve countered a complaint with “Ok, what would you do?” only to be met with those empty eyes that tell you there’s nothing happening behind them.
Some people just think conversation is defined as bitching.
I’ve worked with a couple people like this. They’ll come in bragging about their (actually) impressive résumé. There will be a honeymoon phase where everyone is convinced Mr. Fancy Résumé will change the world. A year or two will go by and everyone will realize they are the embodiment of capitalism. All confidence, importance and big talk on the outside, actually dumb and ineffective on the inside. Gilded, you could say. They get wind that their time may be up, quit, put their new badge on their résumé and starting fucking the next one. All that is to say there are a lot of people out there who are great at building a résumé, but not actually great at doing any work.
