Apparently there are a lot of ways to shutdown. halt is my preference from the command line.

My recommendtation is don’t play Factorio. I picked it up a couple months ago and basically haven’t stopped playing. It’s stolen all of my free time. Don’t do it.

I’m sure it depends where you are. I’m in Canada, where Federal and Provincial elections are paper only, which makes my paranoid coder heart very happy. You get a piece of paper with a names on it and you put an X next to the one you want to vote for.

So you’re saying it’s basically USB? A camera can be plugged into a USB socket, should we be scared of them?

If your city council wants to turn your city into a surveillance state, they’ll do it regardless of which technology enables it. Pay attention to local politics, elect people opposed to surveillance and those who would support laws preventing it. Don’t get paranoid about open standards that make your city more efficient.

I just got a crown on a molar. They used a hand-held 3D scanner to scan my old tooth, then printed my crown in about an hour. I thought that was pretty cool.

I think there was a time, maybe a few decades ago, when it was entirely acceptable and expected for a full time employee to say “I’m taking off early today, I’ve got a few errands to run.” from time to time. I’m very lucky to be able to do that, but it sounds like it’s getting less common.
