Fascist know that if they can just turn the majority against a specific minority, then they have a foot in the door. You can’t uninvite the vampire from your home, once you let them have their way with the minority, the rules have changed, and those rules will eventually be changed for everyone.

If you protect the neediest minority group that protection extends to everyone. If we ignore that need, then it’s only a matter of time before everyone needs that protection.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t have workers rights parades. I’m saying that gay rights and trans rights are workers rights parades, because they are our fellow workers. I think a lot of modern leftist groups think of minority rights as vestigial or as a distraction. When in reality every trans rights parade should be protected by a sea of factory workers willing to stomp on some fascist for attacking the solidarity or the working class.

Not really commenting on the claims made in this argument, but this is anecdotal evidence. Meaning that someone who claims all pitbulls are sweet and docile because of their personal experience is just as valid of an argument as someone saying all pitbulls are bad because of their personal experience.

I don’t really care about pitbulls one way or the other, but I find it worrying that a lot of the times the debates against the breed follow similar argument structures to those utilized by racist pulling up FBI crime stats about black people.

Numbers may not lie, but they also don’t make assertions. People suck at interpreting data and that fact is constantly utilized to mislead people.

I’m not saying this to defend pitbulls, just that bite statistics don’t really tell us anything about innate aggression in dog breeds. Just like FBI statistics don’t tell us about innate criminality in ethnicity.

Those bite statistics don’t make any attempt to rule out misleading variables. It could be that pitt bull bites are reported more often because of the extent of harm they cause. It could be that people who gravitate towards breeds who are thought to be more aggressive are wanting and are training for aggression.

Statistics is hard, and can generally be used to shape opinions on just about anything.

Yeap after years of getting my scripts filled at CVS or Walgreens, I recently started getting them filled at the hospital i work at. Man, having a decent pharmacist makes a huge difference. The first round of scripts I had filled one of the pharmacists called asking if I needed a specific version of any of my scripts. I think you can experience some humbling events, but teaching people to be humble isn’t exactly the goal of any of the martial arts. Lots of people just end up learning how to be more effective at violence. I used to do some amateur boxing, and I wouldn’t really claim a lot of the guys I boxed with to be especially humble. Lots of contact sports has a lot of ego involved in it.

I work in a trauma ward. It’s not unusual to see people get stabbed dozens of times, whether it’s self defense or not. People who get stabbed don’t get dropped like a gun shot wound victim, they bleed out.

So more often or not if there’s a confrontation with a knife people will keep stabbing until the person stops being a threat, which can take a while.

Yeah… I don’t really think anyone really cares about anyone’s education anymore, at least not past your first employer.

I have to spend a lot of time teaching people in their residencies at my job, and where they went school doesn’t really bring anything to the table. In fact, a lot of the people who went to fancy private medical schools were either overwhelmed by having to talk to our impoverished patient population, or didn’t ever develop healthy ways to mitigate interpersonal conflict.

And I imagine Joe Rogan didn’t start his career by immediately getting ripped and doing steroids.

I just don’t really think something as simple as taking judo classes is really going to do much to tackle a problem that likely started at the socioeconomic scale.
