I figured that was probably the case. One of the batteries that came with it doesn’t match the models it supports. Didn’t want to take the whole thing apart without a second opinion though
Here is the video

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Using RTX 2050 on Fedora kinoiteEnglish
3·2 years agoYeah those are the steps I followed.
I have used bazzite before and it worked well, I just recently reinstalled fedora after using Windows for a month or so (Thought I would need it for class, but my teacher is okay with us doing our work on Linux so yay)
I will probably just rebase than

Technology@beehaw.org•Adobe's ToS changes could be an AI overreach on user data
3·2 years agoThat makes a lot of sense when you put it that way. For some reason I never factored that individuals were extending apps for their own use cases lmao

10·2 years agoI feel like Linux alternatives often falter by trying to offer as extensive of a feature set as the proprietary options. GIMP would be better if it simplified it’s menu’s and focused on offering a strong central feature set, then expand on that core over time to offer a powerful workflow of it’s own.
I noticed this especially with FreeCAD, which is trying to do like 12 things for some reason? Just offer intuitive parametric cad and focus on it. We don’t need OpenSCAD inside FreeCAD because OpenSCAD is already it’s own thing for example.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•After almost 28 years, Super Mario 64 has been beaten without using the A buttonEnglish
101·2 years agoBecause they can as well as being fun and novel to try and beat the game in weird, unintuitive ways? There are challenge runs similar to this* in Minecraft that get super popular all the time.
Similar in a conceptual sense, I’ve no idea the relative difficulty of these two different games nor the differing challenges offered in playing these way

Gaming@beehaw.org•Am I the only person that feels that retro games are better?
1·2 years agoYou even see this with games that were insanely cash grabby from ten or so years ago. Borderlands 2 made you pay for every level cap increase and tiny piece of updated content as it rolled out. The handsome collection fixed that, but it’s still true that it really tried to toll you at every corner. Game is still highly regarded though.

25·2 years agoNot only is this comment stupid, but it isn’t even remotely true. There are tons of famous, powerful individuals in all stretches of the public sphere that actively support Trump and the Republican party.

Technology@lemmy.world•Majority of Americans now use ad blockersEnglish
6·2 years agoSomething I think is interesting is that, in order for companies to adopt these better non ad reliant models, they would have to dramatically scale down.
In a climate where ad and clicks = revenue, your solution is to scale as large as you can and pump out content to maximize views. But that wouldn’t work under normal models

111·2 years agoPixelfed is really interesting, and this sounds like a fun project!
The only problem major problem I have encountered with trying to use defederated social medias, outside of Lemmy, like it and mastadon has been the lack of discover ability. I guess I don’t know how to properly utilize the platforms, but I never find much that is particular to my interests

Gaming@lemmy.ml•EA will spend over $125 million laying off 5 percent of its workforce
4·2 years agoGood, use them for something worthwhile.
It is dystopian really the nature of shuffling hundreds or thousands of people to a building, into a cubicle, in front of a computer for 8 hours a day.
This is awesome! I don’t use the dedicated GPU on my laptop for anything outside light gaming, so I will definitely be switching to this as soon as it is available for Fedora

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•[meme] There is no one-size-fits-all solution to transportationEnglish
1·2 years agoYou would still have to develop good biking infrastructure.
Also, what if people aren’t physically able to take the roughness that can come with riding a bike/scooter (I ride my bike as my main form of transportation and bad roads can be really aggressive) In that case you would also want to throw in a good transit system people could reliably use and get to places at a reasonable time (my local transit system is so bad that it would take an hour and a half to get to school, whereas it takes about 40 minutes by bike)
And at the end of the day, supporting a multitude of different transport methods from walking to high speed rail is beneficial for everyone regardless of thale situation we end up in.

Gaming@lemmy.ml•Palworld Continues To Grow As It Shoots Past 25 Million Players
3·2 years agoYou know what? I agree with that.
I was taking my personal opinion and applying that at large, and forgot it was early access. A bit short sighted of me.
I hope the game has a bright future, even if it may not appeal to me.

Gaming@lemmy.ml•Palworld Continues To Grow As It Shoots Past 25 Million Players
58·2 years agoYeah, the game’s popularity comes directly from it’s gimmicky nature and not from any actual good gameplay loop. Not a single idea, mechanic, or even item is original.
I played for two days with friends and got over it. And I imagine for many, once the appeal of the gimmick wears thin, it’s all and over with
This looks really cool! Didn’t know anything like it existed

Hmm, okay. Hopefully it is just the ribbon cable
