Their computers are shit but they at least have pretty good monitors, I am still rocking a 2021 S2722DGM because it was a very good VA panel for it’s time especially considering it’s BFI implementation is quite good.

For me I can reach the windows desktop in around 14 or 15 seconds (auto login), for most people the biggest bottleneck is a slow bios.
Linux and windows normally have very similar boot times at least on my hardware.

At least on curseforge the most recent 1.21.1 patch got marked as stable, not sure why on the pixelmon website it is still marked as a beta.
Pixelmon has been on 1.20.1+ for quite some time now… currently it’s on 1.21.1.
At the very least the best open source chromium browser although the majority of those on lemmy hate the CEO behind it.
For my use cases I need to use a chromium browser so I use brave on windows, iOS and Linux

No hate but what is this even supposed to mean?
I think he is talking about when it is made as a GIF which would have no sound.

The brave browser is a pretty good option on iOS, it has a good Adblock and it has support for background audio (assuming you enable it in the browsers settings)
It is one of the only browsers on iOS that I know of that has support for both, meaning you can use it to listen to YouTube music with no ads and with the screen off.
And to think that I was so proud of my 10k stopwatch.

It is quite stable and is actually much better at recovering during gpu driver timeouts than gnome is for me.
The only big gripe for me is how OSD’s like notifications or changing the volume cause full screen content to get letterboxing that can only be worked around by refullscreening.
It’s been a problem for at least a year now, here’s to hoping it gets fixed for the beta release.

Rendering anything below native resolution is usually also blurry as hell, at least for me.
Things like FSR is the only thing that saves my 6 year old 5700 XT from getting obliterated when using my 1440p monitor.

To be fair this one is not developed by Bethesda
I really cannot tell if this is sarcasm or not.

This functionality is also built into the brave browser on mobile as well (at least on iOS)
Brave settings -> Media -> Enable Background Audio

This is a specific issue with several of the amd 500 series gigabyte motherboards, the only workaround is to disable GPP0 wakeup
You have to disabled it again every reboot so you will have to find a way to disable it automatically on boot
If I am not mistaken the GTS 450 should be more than powerful enough especially by Linux standards.
Why not use Keybase for cloud and proton for mail?

It was in pre-alpha previously, today is when it officially entered the alpha stage with its alpha 1 release, they also have planned features/changes for the alpha 2 release somewhere as well.
Valheim is considerably demanding imo, have to play the game at 1080p to get a decent and consistent frame rate on my 5700 XT
