It’s also possible that they said “get out of here” just before the video started and then subsequently yelled “get out of the car”. I never heard anything but get out of the car in the video that’s making the rounds, but it’s definitely possible the witness heard it before the video starts. And if that’s the case, then they would’ve been giving conflicting orders, which I’ve seen happen in numerous encounters with police before.

Alternatively, OP could try talking to their neighbor about it instead of getting the state involved. Maybe even offering to help them clean it up? Getting the authorities involved could cost the neighbor money or have bad repercussions and we don’t know what their circumstances are.
If we’re missing more animosity like this thread then we’re probably not missing much at all.

What you’re thinking of is actually only applicable after a court judgment in China and it’s for judgment defaulters, i.e. people who have violated the law, received an order to pay a fine from the court (a judgment), and then proceeded to either evade the fine or hide their assets. It’s restricted to people who are within their means to pay the judgment and are still refusing or evading, and it’s limited to high consumption or consumption not essential to life/work. They can still travel, they just can’t buy plane tickets and nicer rail tickets or high speed rail. The government uses the restrictions to encourage people to pay their fines. The US and (I assume) western countries do similar things with judgments and bankruptcies all the time. In the US a court judgment is typically required to be paid off when you sell your home or before a lender will let you refinance your property, for example. Also a bankruptcy court can effectively restrict your right to purchase luxury items or travel or by scrutinizing your funds in court and requiring that you show up to certain court dates, just as examples. They can even refuse to let you sell your house and other assets and set stipulations for how debt must be repaid if they do let you sell it. The social credit score stuff is nonsense that’s long since been debunked or has Western equivalents that we don’t bat an eye at.

The ch digraph in both instances of Eichhörnchen is pronounced closer to the way you pronounce the first consonant in the word “hue”. It’s closer to the front of the mouth than the one you’re thinking of in Irish. It’s ç in the International Phonetic Alphabet. It’s a different sound than the other way that ch is pronounced in German and has to do with what sounds/letters appear around it. The other pronunciation of ch in German is normally pronounced as x (this sound is the one you’re thinking of that’s in Irish) or χ.

Just fyi, they answered your question further down in the thread without replying to you by accident I think. I saw your question and also wanted to know, just passing along in case you were still curious lol
Obligatory “leave the leaves” if you can. Insects and small animals use the leaf litter and they’re good for soil creation (thanks, worms and fungi). Wondering why you don’t see as many lightning bugs/fireflies nowadays? Leave your leaves and they’ll have places to lay their eggs. Avoid becoming a member of the cult of the lawn!

As a native plant lover and invasive plant hater, I support this and please don’t stop.
Yup, enshittification comes for everything in the end. The profit motive takes no prisoners.
The company that currently owns Bandcamp laid off all of the union bargaining team members when they acquired Bandcamp, or rather, didn’t extend an offer of employment to all of them which is effectively a layoff or firing. Just adding on to your comment so people are more aware, in case they need extra convincing to only buy from Bandcamp on that day (or preferably not at all). Purchase directly from artists whenever possible. Pretty sure those workers who were fired are still seeking resolution, and I don’t think Songtradr, the company that acquired Bandcamp, ever recognized the union even though they voted yes in their vote to unionize with OPEIU months before the acquisition. Go here for more info.

And included in half the staff was every member of their union bargaining committee. The workers got done dirty when that sale to Songtradr happened. I’m not even sure if Songtradr has recognized the union yet. They had just won their election (overwhelmingly) and the sale happened right after that.
I legit got this notification on my phone while reading this comment. I do the same and will continue to do the same.
There were people there before New Spain and Mexico claimed the land. I imagine they’re qualifying it using something like the map I linked.

Glad you learned something!

China doesn’t have a national minimum wage, but minimum wage is delegated to the local level there and definitely exists in every single province. Just echoing what the other user said, literally everything you said here is easily disprovable. https://www.china-briefing.com/news/minimum-wages-China/
Agreed. I think they probably could’ve kept at it for a while if they hadn’t fucked with the RAF, but it’s at least put a huge spotlight on them I guess. Hopefully, other Brits will take up the banner under different names/orgs.

Agreed. If a cop wants to cop badly, there’s not much you and I or anyone else can do about it besides speak up and hope they listen. And if they don’t, don’t resist and just sue later.
You set and communicated a healthy boundary. I think your email clearly communicates your reasoning and expectations and hopefully the recruiter passes it along to the company itself so they can receive the feedback, or at the very least uses it to tailor what sort of opportunities they send your way.
