I don’t think you will be able to cybersquat on c/PCMasterRace, @CatZoomies@lemmy.world. If the community votes to change the name, c/PCMasterRace will be taken over by another set of mods.

I would prefer lemmy.world defederate from Threads and any other major social media giant’s attempt at federation. My reasons for doing so have been covered really well in other comments in this post.

There’s enjoying PC gaming and then there’s believing it to be superior to consoles. For the former, go join PCGaming or similar communities. For the latter, welcome to PCMR. I don’t mind the “PC Master Race” meme and think changing it is silly. Pick your battles; spend your valuable time and effort on things that matter.
