i wanted to take some time to review and reflect, and i cannot bring myself to the same conclusion. as you said, the mandate does not exist yet. plus, this fascist regime has invented new ways of losing in the courts because they simply don’t have total control yet. bluesky has the resources to fight for their users right in court. by choosing not to wait for a court order or even put up a minimal legal resistance, they complied in advance. to me, their decision to remove these posts or ban these accounts reflects not a requirement to comply, but instead company values. they thought it would be easier and cheaper to roll over. i think this is ultimately the underlying flaw of for-profit media companies so i’m not surprised, and the conclusion i reach is that with a for profit media company, i am the product. as the product, i can refuse to have my attention sold to the highest bidder as an “impression.” if i don’t like fascism, i don’t use bluesky. so i don’t

i like to borrow from other systems and treat quiver and gold as stats to be checked against. i can ask you to roll a stat check against quiver. if you fail, you are currently out of arrows and will need to perform some action to no longer be out of arrows (including long rest, just assuming part of long rest is fletching or whatever, it doesn’t need to be focused on too hard). on critical success or failure, the player’s stat can go up or down permanently, and a player can trade a wealth point for an inventory point in town.
generally it works really well at letting players focus on role play by not requiring them to maintain a running tally.

What is happening in Palestine is genocide on a larger scale with Israel having far less resistance stopping them from indiscriminate killings. We do not need to use one genocide’s scale to de-legitimize claims that another genocide is also a genocide. Genocide in Palestine, Sudan, and Ukraine also do not make the United States actions throughout Latin America over the course of the last 50 years not genocide.
What is happening in the world is happening everywhere. Our best chance at bringing these things to an end is to act against our oppressors everywhere we are and to not try to create false dichotomies. The more acts of oppression you tolerate, the more tolerant you become of oppression until eventually there is no hope of freedom anywhere. We will not be free until every genocide everywhere is brought to a stop and every authority held accountable for its role in this global system of atrocity.
