And now, the government just officially defined LFI as “extrême gauche”. And I don’t mean in speeches but legally. This pissed off the real “extrême gauche”, stating that there is a difference between trying to tame capitalism vs abolishing it. But hey all the same to the media and the government: don’t you dare criticizing this magnificent system that keeps us on top and you at the bottom
Almost there. So the “value” provided by the owner is money. It is capital. Which is needed purely because of the system in place, that was the whole point all along.
In almost all cases, the owner does not build the house. Thats done by the masons, electricians, plumbers etc … So the owner did not create value
This is not capitalism, this is a market based system, which can happen to exist outside of capitalism.
Capitalism is is the ownership of value by capital ( property of shares, housing etc… gives you benefits because you own them, not because you provided value).

Something to keep in mind while talking about birth rate in France, is that we have a retirement system that is centered around growth. We do not have individual retirement plans, we pay each month for the currently retired people, and the workers will pay for ours when we retire. This creates a problem when the population of retired ppl is in augmentation and the active population ( working and paying taxes) is declining.
For a long time there was way more active pop than retired so we have a safety net, but it will slowly erode. And currently the political “solution” being pushed is not growing the active population (immigration for instance), but shifting the system towards a capitalisation (ie. Simililar to 401k)
Oh this one is really something. Even as a clueless teen I still had WTF moments, and I don’t even want to read it now, I just know I will be cringing the whole time.

EU regulations are applied in France, but there are stricter regulations, for exemple the ban of more neonicotinoids, herbicides and insecticides than required by EU.

Just wanted to chime in and say that all french representatives voted against it, because France have strong regulations imposed upon farmers and this agreement would allow for food grown or raised under less strict regulations to be sold in France. As these products will probably be sold cheaper, it raises concern for farmers who will stil need to comply to regulations, or for consumer if these regulations are lifted.
I don’t think so, but it keeps coming in my searches also, I guess I will try it to see if it fits my memories !
I got two im thinking of : One I am sure I can recover but hey, let’s shoot for some engagement here, it was a sort of worms like but with pigs, were you could promote units to archetypes The second one I couldn’t find on my searches, it was a PS1 game (I think) in which you constructed your Mecha for battle royale rounds, and you could buy parts or change chassis. I remember an arena on a sort of battleship or structure in the sea, but I was unable to retrieve the name of this game.
Eh, to be really pedantic, ad hominem is more when you ça point how a person contradict himself in his reasoning.(The coherence of their arguments) Attacking the person itself and not their argument or how they use them is ad personam
Iirc they are thinking about putting some kind of Killswitch collar to their “bodyguards” in “exchange” of a place in the bunker should an event arrive for this reason.

Come on, a Palestinian man preaching love and compassion ? The whole lot of them would call him a communist terrorist…

I personally think that we need a 6th republic, with more direct votes from the citizens. Also, even if I know that it would never happen, I would like to change the current voting method from 2 turn vote with elimination to something else like a rating of all candidates, which would remove the current “1rst round vote strategically, 2nd vote vote against the worst one” Wich gives no room to vote for your convictions for a large part of the voters.
At last, what I would love to see is a parliament made from randomly picked up citizens. We could have professors, students, bakers, masons as well as doctors or architects or whatever other profession as representatives instead of the current politicians. This would obviously require a lot of work, including at least 6 month of training for the randomly selected representatives but I think it is a small price to pay.
These are just ideas and I know this is completely naive to think any of these could be implemented but there is alternatives, there is a whole area of academic studies dedicated to more democratic regimes.

Yeah, and it’s 1800 families. It should be noted that the proposal was rejected, deemed infeasible meanwhile our previous PM was saying that we NEED to remove 2 public hollyday…

We are currently in the 5th republic, Wich was created by Charles de Gaulle during the decolonization of Algeria. These times required a concentration of powers to ensure stability, such as constitutional tools allowing to bypass votes in parliament. We are not AT ALL in the same situation as then.

Yes an no, Macron was elected against LePen. This in itself is a problem but macron himself said he was “obliged to the left”, then he proceeded to name 7 right wing prime ministers, after his party losing all other non presidential votes. So yes, we voted (reluctantly for some) for him, but he kept wanting to push his policies even after the ppl voted against him several times.

You can raise taxes for rich people AND remove public founding for enterprises. LFI ( melanchon) proposes these two :
For the mobile part, I’d like to introduce you to shattered pixel dungeon!
