  • Apparently it has to be kid friendly if it includes the Muppets. Remember the Muppets sitcom, where Piggy has a TV show and all the parents sent letters into the studio complaining that the show wasn’t for kids or something stupid.

I loved that show. The Muppets is for adults now, it was for us as kids with Sesame Street, The Muppet Show and all the Saturday morning cartoons. And the adult sitcom was a great addition until stupid parents happened.

  • I have AuDHD and I can’t remember a damn thing. Unless it happened 30 years ago, then it’s photographic with built in zoom.

But I tend to build muscle memory about stores I frequent. My Walmart redesigned twice in 6 months. And now I just do Walmart delivery because I can’t deal with how it’s now laid out

  • My family is from Quebec’s Eastern Townships, which used to have a much larger English-speaking population. Over the years, most of my relatives moved to Ontario or Nova Scotia, while some stayed in Quebec.

At my grandmother’s 95th birthday recently, the conversation somehow turned to immigration. A couple of relatives who own businesses in Quebec started talking about immigrants and even some of their own employees. The level of hostility and prejudice in their comments genuinely shocked me.

That experience left me with the impression that anti-immigrant attitudes are still deeply embedded in parts of Quebec society, even if they aren’t always visible in public. So nothing about this situation is surprising to me.

  • I get them regularly, no one can explain why. Both hamstrings same time, I’m 6’ 7" mostly legs. I usually get them in the middle of the night. Pain doesn’t phase me, but when I pull both hamstrings I start crying because the pain is unbelievable. I stand up as quickly as possible support my body and try to stretch my legs. My wife starts freaking out because I usually wake up with a scream. For the next 15 mins it’s the worst pain imaginable while I plead to the darkness for the pain to stop. 15 mins later I’m back to normal. Like it never happened. I hate it.

  • Most Commonwealth countries, Canada is different because of our close connection with the US.

There’s a group of Indians near me who play cricket every weekend so sometimes I’ll go by and bother them. “You’re playing the game wrong, you know. Have you guys never watched baseball before?” They’re always super nice and will spend ages explaining everything about the sport. They have a level of zeal for the sport which cannot be matched by even us hockey fans. Last summer we went down to the Galapagos and our group was mostly Brits and I would wait until late in the evening after they had started drinking and ask if they play soccer over there, and that is just as much fun to me.
