No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•if all communication electronics died on New Year's day, how long would it take for other time zones to notice
6·2 months agoThere was this thing that happened a few years ago. Usually the frequency fluctuates a bit, but averages out to 50hz/60hz. Many appliances are using clocks that use the grids frequency to time them. In one instance the grid frequency averaged slightly below their target over a period of time so clicks would show the wrong time (like a minute or two off). They adjusted the grid to be slightly off in the other direction to compensate and make the clocks catch up to real time.
Here’s an article about that: https://www.drax.com/electrification/electricity-causing-clocks-europe-run-slowly/

No mention of Starlancer? It kinda flew under the radar but had a nice setting and good controls.
Deswegen gibt er 12000€ für Friseure in drei Monaten aus!

This is the score you get when you answer “valid” for every question. Good job.

Yeah, teaching children about that AI exists, what it does and doesn’t is the same as raising a child as a nazi. What are you on about? Of course teaching about the cruelties of the nazis is crucial to prevent it from happening again.
Or are you saying this guy is an ai? And raising their children as ai? Nazis believing their children should become a nazi doesn’t mean the rest of society should not know and be thought about national socialism.
Fuck AI, but knowing about it is key to defeating it. Misinformation will not help destroy it.
So about someone who doesn’t get what the advantages of ray-tracing are?
Well, to play devil’s advocate: Confronting children with AI early on prepares them for what’s to come. If he teaches about the dangers, the advantages and disadvantages it’s good to do so early on so the kids can understand what they are dealing with. They will be exposed to it anyway so it’s good to talk and learn about it.
That being said: I don’t think this is what he meant by that.

Makes sense as they are programmed to be affirmative and not to avoid interactions.
