A 2024 study did not find a significant difference in shark bites at netted versus unnetted beaches in Sydney since 2000. But that is not necessarily a gauge of the nets’ effectiveness, said Professor Huveneers, the study’s lead author.
Two opposite outcomes could be true, he said: Either the nets did not kill enough sharks to make a difference, or they did and therefore reduced bites at beaches with and without nets.
Because there is no effective way to test which hypothesis is correct, he said, it’s hard to say whether the nets are worthwhile. Many experts argue that newer technologies provide more targeted and less lethal forms of protection.

Awesome, would not have thought of wading through YouTube to find these. Thankyou

Yeah, windy’s pretty good for seeing the last 24 hours in a time-lapse, but I was looking to see some live feeds. I’ve been adding the streams to my jellyfin server and watching it on the telly.

Liked this solution from chinwag.

Probably not the only pool that has a pre printed for this.

That task force codename though.

You’re welcome.

From the app drawer in android you can long press YouTube to get this drop down:

Then hold and drag subscriptions to your home screen.

My bad, they automatically set the exposure. At the same position it did about 4 seconds exposure and looked a bit darker than the pixel. Will post if they figure out how to send the photo to me.

A mate had an iPhone while I was doing this, they asked me to try the same thing with theirs. Gotta say with both my phones I just set them in a steady spot and selected night shot. Didn’t have that option on the iPhone that I could see, but that might be me not knowing how to use it.

Yeah, I agree. Way to much light. Also, good luck getting your mates to sit for 30 seconds.
And, yes, the realme photo was way more blurry. I literally took both these photos around 5 mins of each other about an hour after sundown
Edit: Might have been closer to 2 hours after sundown.

Australia. I feel I’ve seen a kangaroo shuffle backwards in a fighting stance. But hearing an emu can’t walk backwards sounds ludicrous.

Just watched Matt Parker from standupmaths latest video on this one.
I think they should crown/encase the pyramid at the end of the 1200(?) years.

Architect or porn star?

Are we doing this “you forgot to switch accounts” thing?
I had to laugh at the euphemism “one-way attack drones” used in the abc app
