101·7 months agoAbsolute fucking horseshit when we’re talking about massively expanding our energy use to fuel AI datacenters and total surveillance. It’s like scolding people for not recycling while increasingly making everything single-use plastics.

12·1 year agoI wonder if it might engender an advanced sort of solipsism and callousness towards other people. After thousands of years of the world coming and going around you while you remain, would you even recognize other people as real or meaningful?

They’re really easy to make.
Hymenoptera means “membrane wing” which I think is pretty neat.
I am quite afraid of bees and wasps, but I know how to be chill around them and haven’t been stung yet. This is good because I also love them.
This is one of my pet trivias :) hard to remember the pH for bogs and fens though. It has something to do with rain vs groundwater.

5·2 years agoReading out loud or under my breath often helps my retain focus long enough to get stuck to a book. I know it’s working once I stop reading out loud because I want to keep reading faster.

I dunno, why don’t you figure out how to articulate what you don’t like about it before you condemn it as a format for communication?
