I read his books in German, but there seem to be English translations and unless they’re really bad it should not matter for enjoying his writing or the stories. I read Noah first, but as far as I remember it’s a very good thriller, but not that psychological, at least in comparison. After that I just started his books chronologically. Does not matter though, there is no continuing story line or returning characters. But I can vouch for the psychological character of at least his first four books (Therapy, Amok, The Child, and The Soul Breaker).
I you like psychological horror/thrillers then Sebastian Fitzek will keep you busy (and maybe awake at night)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was the craziest thing you have seen a tourist do?
14·1 year agoSwitzerland. Taking the very busy cableway down the mountain. People waiting in line to get in. Next stop, I see some people exiting and immediately getting in line again there. Apparently they thought you need to get in line again at every stop. Crazy. Sweet maybe, but crazy.
Plus one for werewolves, a lot of fun and because of the debating element you get to see people getting creative, evasive, their ability to lie and what not

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your criteria based on which you feel something someone says calls for proof or not?
1·2 years agoJesus is not mentioned anywhere other than scriptures from hundreds of years after his supposed existence.
A bit off topic, but this is an exaggeration. There are several sources from the first century. That’s decades at most, not centuries. The letters of Paul and the gospels, obviously, but also Jewish historian Josephus and some Roman governor from somewhere in what is now Turkey I think. There is actually not that much debate among historians that Jesus existed. Whether or not you want to believe he was saving the world is another thing of course.

I used to build e17 / Enlightenment on Arch for years, was kinda cool and I learned a lot about building packages, but now I don’t care anymore and I just use gnome. Or rather I’m using Firefox and a terminal and that’s pretty much it. Oh and Gimp every once in a while. But most of the time it’s fullscreen Firefox so who cares what de is behind it as long as it just works
