I run NoScript or GNUJS blocker. That 100% stops AI search summaries.

I didn’t get this. Does this species try really hard to please the captain or something?
What does this have to do with Jamie Foxx?
I tried use AI to help me with self host. It gave me incorrect information and I wasted hours trying to read the docs and the AI slop to make sense of everything.
In the end, reading the docs was all that I needed.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Help making sense of IPs and A recordsEnglish
1·18 days agoThanks for the reply. That makes sense. I now understand how to point the domains / subdomains using “A” record.
Could you please also clarify which IP I need to open ports 80 and 443 to, in the router? Or does the IP in the router actually refer to the internal IP device addresses? (Like 142.168.0.6, etc)?

(You are really underestimating the second S of KISS in my case, sorry!)
On a serious note, what recourse does the employee have of they received such a mail?

Doesn’t Firefox natively offer translations?
I often visit sites with Portuguese, Japanese and Swedish content and the browser offers to translate everything to English.
As far as I am aware, the translation happens locally.

Asking about my skills, competencies, in an interview seems dumb because that was what the CV and cover letter were for.
Wait until the candidate asks for the salary and then wait until you get the cheapest candidate who probably lacks skills and talent.
Generally there are resources that companies can use to train newbies to upskill them and pay the taxes they are due.

6·2 months agoCongratulations mate. I wish I had your talent.
I have a (possibly ignorant) question: is there a reason you didn’t choose GPLv3 as the licence of choice for your projects?
I know license is perhaps the last thing in your ming, just curious.
Oh yea. Apparently you can make high quality edible protein with Gorse that have become invasive in Australia and New Zealand.
Which country would Eminem go to if he is “denaturalized” by this regime?

Linux@lemmy.world•how to defend against embrace & extinguish?English
1·2 months agoYou’re probably hinting at tivoization, right?
As much as I respect Torvalds, he really doesn’t quite understand how the GPLv2 doesn’t protect us enough from corporate greed.

27·2 months agoThis long post has one simple solution: the GPLv3.
It is very contentious, but our tech-broligarcy would’ve been greatly subdued if more folks used this license instead of other “permissive” (read. Doormat) licenses.
