Telegram allegedly complied with a government to give them user data, and their e2e encryption was switched to be off by default. I know because when I started the chat with someone we raved about how it says ‘end to end encrypted’ before sending a message. Well, between then and when I decided to migrate off it, that private one-to-one chat’s encryption was switched off.

The only bathrooms I’ve seen are designated by gender… Still, all these rules are frequently made by people who aren’t educated in the relevant fields. That, to me, should invalidate said rules. The same way you wouldn’t trust someone with no medical experience to tell you how to treat a disease.

539:10 specifies men going into female-only areas, meaning, by definition, cis- and trans- men will be in violation.

10 I overrules the previous by stating that people with either male of female sexual organs can enter a female-only area for maintenance purposes, which I find problematic for those with female organs who have sexual trauma - sexes are separated in certain circumstances for a reason.

10 II complements the previous by stating that men and trans women accompanied by a female care-giver shall not be obstructed from entering a female-only area.

Soo, men cannot enter female- or women- only areas unless they are performing emergency assistance or maintenance, or they are accompanied by a female or trans male carer.

Does their law state anywhere that a man = male and a woman = female? If not, this law has the above loopholes.

HB 1312 explicitly defines “female” as an individual whose biological sex determined at birth is female, and states “women” or “girls” refers to biological females, with a parallel definition for “male,” “men,” or “boys”, so essentially the same tactic as 354-A:17-b II.

​However, RSA 21:3 states that words like “man,” “woman,” “husband,” and “wife” in statutes are to be construed as gender-neutral, and RSA 21:54 prohibits discrimination based on gender identity, as does RSA 354-A. So, as long as 354-A is legally enforced, none of the rest can be.

I know Jellyfin/Emby is compatible with music, but I’m advising you now to not try and cram all your media in one software. I recommend Navidrome as a music hoster. The con is that I haven’t written a guide for it, as I run Proxmox it was almost too easy to need one.

As you’re just starting out I’d recommend picking any Linux distro, putting the ISO on a USB drive and booting the server machine from it to install. Well, you know how to install an OS. Next, install Navidrome (guide) via the Linux or Docker guides, modify the config file to point to your music folder and change any setting you like, for example the port, and run it via systemctl or docker.

After that, login via browser with the given admin creds, make a user account for you and anyone else, install slskd for downloading and beets for correctly organising into the music directory, set up a reverse proxy to point to the Navidrome UI or connect via IP from any Subsonic client or web browser.

If you want you can install Proxmox from the start - I found it incredibly handy to make different containers and VMs to handle different projects, and in terms of Navidrome I got the install script from tteck, ran it, and once done I modified the toml variables to what I wanted and restarted the service. Plug & play.

My advice? You both are fixed on different desires. If you really worry that she’ll be devastated without a child, then it won’t be too bad - give her the kid. Then, when ready, break up with her. If being together, her sacrificing motherhood or you sacrificing freedom, is more painful than being separated with what you both really want from this life, then a child, a divorce and two bittersweet but in the end happy adults is in my opinion the greatest outcome.

There’s also the factor of bearing a child that might suffer under the rules of the mother - raising offspring should never be to appease the parent. It should be to selflessly provide for the child. But, in the end, nobody can easily foresee the child suffering.

Yet another factor is the realm she lives in - someone has to financially provide for her if she refuses. In some realms it costs a years’ wages to raise an adult. In others it takes several years’ worth with no state support. The former is possible, in the case that the mother doesn’t find another mate. The latter may well be a capitalist death sentence. In which case, either do not offer a child, but still break up with her, or stay and raise one together.

Sacrifice has to happen in your case. But in my opinion, living a life of despair and regret for not having lived on your terms is the worst possible. Which brings me to factor 3 - you have let other people dictate your decisions, guide your way. The people I know that have done that have died in cults, become emotionally dead to their children, and led the majority of their life as the wrong gender or betrothed to the wrong gender.

Philips Hue are still the best, but I’ve heard IKEA Tradfri are great too. The reasons for Hue bulbs being great are that they are extremely reliable, and their colour frequency range is said to be highest (and if you use a third party controller with their lightstrips the saturation/range isn’t as wide). The cost is worth it. When my router fucks up it’s really nice to have all my motion sensors (Also Hue), quick buttons (SNZB-01P) and lights work together.

A reason for not choosing Hue is they may not be as bright as you hope. As you seem to want white temperatures only and not the full colour spectrum, know that the regular bulbs are 800W and they’ve fairly recently got 1.6KW bulbs. So look for those if you want.

As for a dongle, I bought mine years ago but the Sonoff range is brilliant - their ZigBee USB dongles are very popular and very reliable. Tge one I own is the ‘Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus (CC2652P Coordinator)’, also known as ‘ZBDongle-P’. Many folk warn against the ZBDongle-E.

That’s okay for me, because I don’t use their bridge the Hue Hub, or their app.
