Depends on the intent. If the series portraits mostly faithfully the game story but then decided to omit this part from it, than it looks like straight washing to keep a low Parental Rating and avoid backlash from homophobes.

I understand your concerns, but since it is an official EU platform and we have the GDPR, I don’t think there’s much cause for concern. Even if it uses your countries platform to verify your identity, I don’t think they would be able to see which petition was signed just that you verified your identity on the platform as a whole.

I don’t think he’s they’re assuming anything he’s they’re just using the term binary as a set/group that includes the traditional man and woman genders. Sure maybe no one uses it to describe themselves but that doesn’t mean that the word isn’t useful to refer to the “traditional” genders, which he uses to contrast with non-binary.
