  • LOL I work in transportation planning in northern Canada at the territorial level and it’s crazy trying to get big changes surrounding sustainable transport to happen. Hell, any kind of transportation change up north is tough. Up here, it falls on the municipality to start, work on and complete transit and active transportation projects, we mostly just come in to assess, catalogue and maintain as territorial gov. Public transit isn’t even a consideration for us outside the “big” city, besides where buses travel on the highway network, which is ~40kms on a network of nearly 5000kms.

If you want to make a difference in your homes transportation network, VOTE IN YOUR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS, because if its anything like my experience, your provincial/territorial/state government probably won’t bother much with it until it’s already been done.

Lol as a straight guy, that tracks. For me, I think it’s that I’m comfortable with myself and who I am on the spectrum of sexuality, and don’t really care if people judge me as gay. You’re damn right if there’s something funny to be said that happens to be gay as fuck, I’m just gonna go ahead and say it.

  • “I’m not depressed, at least I don’t think I am. I don’t really feel sad.”

Definitely sounds familiar to my experience a couple years before my depression diagnosis. I’m not saying that I think you’re depressed, it definitely manifests differently from person to person. For me it feels like a really heavy blanket draped over my mind that holds me down from doing the things I want to, but I am very comfortable underneath that blanket.

Im going to check out your song when I have time later today. I hope you continue making music, we all need something to put ourselves into.

Edit: I just listened to the song, super heart felt and full of emotion. You’ve gotta make time to do more of that.

  • Um… Let’s take a quick look at the American military’s track record real quick… They tend to lose when fighting a decentralized, insurgent force (VC, Taliban) which is exactly what the citizenry of the US would turn into if the government turned on the population. Not to mention, a ton of military personnel would hold the same values of said insurgency, meaning that, at best, some would think twice before attacking, and at worst they’ll defect, bringing millions worth of fancy kit to the other side. I don’t have a dog in this race (not American) but I think it’s ridiculous to underestimate the capabilities of an angry populace.

  • As I said, it’s also good life advice, they’re not mutually exclusive. For most people, those things are going to improve relationship and the likelihood of being in a romantic one. If you are in fact too ugly for someone to be physically attracted to you, you need to make yourself more emotionally and personably attractive. So far, the ugliest part I’ve seen about you is your attitude, and that’s going to have a waaay bigger effect on what people think of you. I’m a straight dude, and judging from this post I wouldn’t want to spend time with you in a platonic manner, let alone an intimate one simply because you’re coming across like a dick head. It sounds like you’re entirely focused on what you can’t do, while rejecting any notion that you can improve yourself and your chances. I don’t blame women for not wanting any part of that.
