Courts and judges aren’t enough, but they are important. So when the midterms and 2028 elections do come up, make sure you’ve looked at all the candidates on your ballot, not just congressional and presidential candidates. The more progressives we can vote for and get into office, the more of a chance that they’ll actually be able to get things done (note: vote progressives not just dems whenever possible. Dems don’t do shit unless there are progressives to make them, usually)
More like I wouldn’t put it past him to have posed for this pic. I don’t think he’s actually skateboarding lol
Genuinely can’t tell if that’s real or an edit lmao

The USA would be 100x better and 100x funnier if it was run by actual clowns
Imagine all the silly stuff they could get up to if there was just 100 clowns in the senate building

Ah you’re right. The conservatives in the USA are pretty much all fascists at this point so I literally forgot the difference 😭 I hate this country

Society is that broken imo. People are understandably angry that their material conditions suck. The economy sucks. They hate their job. They hate their wife/husband/kids that they felt like they have to have. But our education system has been absolutely gutted, so they don’t understand why their life sucks so bad.
And instead of a real education they get fed propaganda saying “traditionalism is good, and it’s these outsiders with dangerous, new ideas that have ruined the country and are making your life terrible.” And just believing the people with power that tell them this is a hell of a lot easier than trying to educate themselves on why life actually sucks.
Remember, fascism operates on having an in-group the law protects but does not bind, and an out-group the law binds but does not protect. So as long as they’re part of the in-group they get to feel safe and secure. And they get to blame the out-group for their problems, so attacking the out-group is actually dealing with their problems. (And improperly venting their anger)
And if you throw in some conspiracies, like the “Jews run the world” bullshit, then it makes people feel special bc they have “secret knowledge” that no one else knows or understands. So instead of feeling inferior bc they’re uneducated, they get to feel smart and special
Now all of this is absolutely horrendous. The bright side is that if learned, which means that some people will unlearn it and we can work towards making sure kids aren’t taught this bullshit now or in the future. It’ll be really fucking difficult, but it’s vital to making the world less shit

Oh I’m not expecting democrats to pass shit. But more progressives are being elected and I think they’ll rile up the voters enough to force the establishment dems to actually vote for progressive policies. I’m really hoping 2026 is a good year for progressives

It’s true that some people will always vote republican, but not enough for them to reliable win elections. Which means that if we can actually pass real progressive policies, like Medicare for all, then we can have the ratchet effect work in the other direction, dragging the republicans to the left. Because while some of their base will vote for them no matter what, the rest will cling on to their Medicare and will vote for a democrat if the republicans threaten to take it away

There’s also the difference of access to information. The genocide in Gaza is one of the most televised genocides ever. Because people are able to see the truth of what’s happening and not just the propaganda that’s pushed, it means that it’s much harder for the Israeli and USA governments to control the narrative (like hiding the fact that the right wing in Israel is a bunch of blood-thirsty genociders)

Don’t forget draft dodger

At least Vance is so uncharismatic that if he even thought about pulling the shit trump does the maga base would eat him alive

I’m 1/2 cup crango juice

This is a very good explanation. To answer the specific question about modern offering plates, those are fine bc it’s not selling anything, it’s a free will offering to support the church. Of course, some churches put a lot more pressure on their congregants and basically force them to give beyond their means by saying shit like “God demands you give x amount” or “buying salvation” and stuff, and that behavior would likely get them whipped by Jesus too. Unfortunately the people who do stuff like that, don’t actually care about Jesus and his teachings

That sounds way more based than this one tho

I don’t think it “goes against the spirit of capitalism” as capitalism prioritizes profits. I’d say it goes against free markets tho bc companies are encouraged to monopolize industries or work together to artificially inflate prices and depress wages. I think capitalism without intense regulation always ends up placing profits over people

Oooh I see. I might download it on my steam deck then again if it means performance improvements because I’ve been wanting to play on the go. Thanks for explaining!

Wait, I played bg3 on my steam deck over a year ago and it ran just fine. So what’s the difference here? Is this new thing specifically made to run on the steam deck whereas before I was just lucky that bg3 ran on the steam deck?
Wait I got the rest of it, but what’s the Scandinavia part?
Just make sure to not say ‘neigh’ or they might get the wrong idea
