1·1 month agoBut I didn’t say use. I said eat, consensually. Nobody is being used here just adults doing adult stuff consensually

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I'm right and the other vegans are wrong
1·1 month agoJust to be clear it’s implied in the hypothetical that the person was capable of consenting when he wrote his will saying he consents to being eaten.

72·1 month agoHoney debate this, wool debate that. Here’s a real debate for ya (/hj): is consuming human flesh vegan if the person explicitly and verifiably consented to being eaten?

3·1 month agoTbh gatekeeping Arch by keeping an area of pestilent neckbeards around it is good actually. I mean there’s nothing hard or elite about Arch really but newbies should never be exposed to the AUR (see recent events) when they have no clue what they’re doing and the risks associated with AUR use.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How surrounded are you by opposing political views?
1·2 months agoI’m a leftist on a leftist region of Italy so you’d think not that much but actually I am quite surrounded.
Of course, friends and immediate family are generally aligned with my views (at least on things that matter the most) so not much of an issue there, but outside of that there’s been a surge in fascists as of late, then there’s the “leftists” who are really just campists with whom I disagree with on very important topics like Ukraine and unfortunately they are very loud to the point the entire left, from the center-center-left of PD to the far far left are all either shy on the topic or openly pro-fascist ruzzians to cater to these campists (there’s only a couple exceptions among parties, among the actual people support for Ukraine is higher even among the left) but the worst people of all are probably the apoliticals that likely make up a majority of my generation around me. I have had more pleasant and productive conversations with some fascists or campist “leftists” than many of the apoliticals who actively refuse to engage in politics even when they directly affect them.
So I am not necessarily surrounded by people I fully disagree with on everything (the fascists are still a minority) but I definitely am somewhat surrounded by people who I strongly disagree with on very important topics still.

Games@lemmy.world•I'm A Game Dev Who Got Layed Off From His Non-Game Dev JobEnglish
3·3 months agoThen don’t translate your game, or crowdsource the translation like NixOS and other FOSS does.
English is a lingua franca for a reason, most people speak it or at least understand it. Now sure: there are people who don’t, but if your game has netted you less than $100 that’s not something you really need to worry about.

Political Memes@lemmy.world•Would you support the Gun Act?
2·3 months agoThis sounds outlandish to me tbh. Part of it is that in my culture women don’t take the husband’s name (unless they specifically want to) but also wdym it’s not automatic in all records that seems like some gross incompetence (or a scam to get more emoney out of folks)

Linux@programming.dev•Users of Arch-based distros, why don't you use pure Arch?
1·4 months agoI use Arch (btw) so I half agree but Arch nowadays is a much more mainstream distro, especially thanks to its derivatives so some sort of security should be implemented on the AUR.

A little while ago I observed a discussion between some GhostBSD user and some FreeBSD user and I genuinely couldn’t tell if they were being assholes to each other or if that’s just normal way to handle communication for them
