  • The difference being the Soviet-captured Nazis were forced at gunpoint to contribute to their R&D projects, being treated as prisoners before either being imprisoned or executed. NATO made its first supreme commander an SS member, put so many Nazis in the West German government that there were actually a higher percentage of them there than in the actual Third Reich, and let von Braun live a long and comfortable life as a free man.

  • This was always what was going to happen when they rolled out the SAVE plans. The entire thing relies on the government never once deciding to reneg on their end of the deal, and the second they do you’re left with a fuckton of principal on the loan still with no recompense because you were assuming that regular payments would result in forgiveness decades down the line.

This is also why the only real method for fixing the cost of college is immediate forgiveness of all federally owned loans followed by mandating cost reduction for all public universities, but then porky can’t print trillions in interest and administrative fees over the next 50 years so it was never on the table.

  • For what you’re spending on this, I would highly recommend throwing in a 1440p monitor. The difference from 1080p is night and day. The 7900XT will have zero issues with it, and you can find a solid 27" one for cheap nowadays so long as you’re not trying to find an OLED or something with a stupid high refresh rate.

That’s about the only feedback I have here though, the rest of this build looks good!

  • This is also why the liberal focus on specific shitheels in politics (Trump, Vance, etc) is ultimately pointless: if your primary goal is to remove the individuals from power, they will simply be replaced by other ghouls with identical politics while your movement disintegrates because you accomplished your goal, achieving nothing.

You have to change the underlying material structure of your society in order to facilitate meaningful change.

  • The inevitable conclusion of 50 years of neoliberalism running your country is that you end up with a generation of capitalists and political leaders that can’t manufacture anything, don’t understand how manufacturing works, have no concept of the kind of infrastructure necessary to manufacture things, and need a panel of experts to politely explain that not only does their country not have the personnel or facilities to manufacture things but that the social mechanisms for educating that workforce and building those facilities have atrophied from non-use to the point of collapse.

And this is ignoring the fact that production lines have become so used to literal millions-strong workforces being centralized in massive Asian cities (that the west can’t build because of fifty million other reasons all along the same lines of atrophied levers of power and total contradiction with major profit centers, like mass transit or basic urban planning) that even if we did manage to overcome all those problems we’d still be radically changing what existing supply chains look like and essentially reinventing the core business model of dozens of major industries at once while they’re still running at typical capacity, something that capitalists famously love doing.

There’s a whole lot of finding out about to happen.
