Zigbee and Z-Wave will, they don’t even use wifi like some Matter devices do.

Oh my god, how many cm0002 accounts are there?

Yes, exploding trees are real. The sap in them freezing is what causes them to explode, although maybe the confusion is that people expect a fireball or smoke when something explodes? I don’t know, but I’ve seen a lot of people saying it’s an urban legend even though it’s real.
Also, yes, fuck this guy. If we were getting paid, we’d be filthy rich.
Interesting that the inversion even happens inside of the pit. I never thought about that

How cold did it get where you are? I’m currently dripping my only sink on an exterior wall due to 26°F temps. It’s right next to my washer, so hopefully it’ll cover both.

I swear I’ve seen this article a bunch of times before. I think it’s time to block cm0002

I’m still waiting for a structural engineer :x
So, I still just have bare, partially rotten studs just chilling

Absolutely, I’ll have a structural engineer tell me what to do at the very least, and if not too expensive and I can afford it, have them do it.
I unfortunately don’t think the sellers I bought it from knew about it either. It seems that the attempted “repair” was in 2017, when the seller they bought it from still owned the house. So I don’t think I have much recourse there.

Yeah, in one place I can see a steel plate (on the corner, not necessarily near the crack or anything). It was indeed a portal before the 90’s, with a door further up (but not on this wall). This is also a worry of mine, that it might not be structurally sound anymore. It’s possible that years of slow water intrusion has affected the porch internally, at the rebar level, however I have seen no other signs of failure (although, like you, am just a normal person that doesn’t know much about this stuff). I would not be able to afford replacing the concrete porch, I have a feeling.
Also, I did have two contractors take a look while they were here for other reasons, and both of them said to support it just in case, but otherwise didn’t seem too concerned.
In the meantime, I’ve reached out to a few more structural engineers to get quotes from them to come take a look.

Yeah, that’s kind of where I’m at, too. I’ll probably talk to an engineer, but this was definitely never intended to be load bearing.

Thank you.

Absolutely. I’m not against having him come take a look. Just unfortunate, I guess.

Yeah… I figured this would be the correct course of action. Just sucks since I’m at risk of losing my job. Although it would definitely suck more if I accidentally collapsed my porch into the basement.
Depends on what you’re looking for. mailbox.org is great if you want to use your own email client, tuta is good if you desire privacy and encryption

Didn’t Salesforce have a massive breach recently?

They’re saying that if you have both a Trump and a Thin Red Line sticker, because Trump doesn’t care about firefighters

The aftermath of the arrests and subsequent outrage saw the Department of Homeland Security claim Friday that the two arrested were not technically firefighters because they were cutting wood.
“The two contracted work crews questioned on the day of their arrests were not even assigned to actively fight the fire; they were there in a support role, cutting logs into firewood,” the Friday post to X reads. “The firefighting response remained uninterrupted the entire time.”
Semantics, they were cutting said wood to prevent fire spread. If fire spreads in that area now, it’s fully on them
They think that firefighters only extinguish flames, what a bunch of bull
I didn’t say that they would stop, I said that it wouldn’t give them popular support.
