Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Found in r/crappyoffbrands. Typical dollar store fare. Are these real artwork or is it slop?
5·15 days agoI’d say that one is very good slop, but still just slop. Hat’s pompom and right hand’s thumb look like a blend of the tree. The image in the cup is a blend of the tree and a mistletoe branch. His jacket’s right cuff looks odd, and isn’t as thick as the left one. The symbols/shapes in the guilt has no sensible patterns. Santa’s choice of snacks is weird: Shouldn’t he be eating something like cookies, instead of that blurry mess of donuts?

Music@lemmy.world•Spotify is now more expensive than Qobuz 🤯English
3·27 days agoThe web app doesn’t support gapless playback. Some albums are just one long continuous stream of sound, with no gaps in-between songs. The web app forces small pauses between songs, which is annoying when listening to such albums. Also, the keyboard’s media keys might not work with the web app. And, if you are an audiophile, you might care about bit-perfect playback. Using a browser doesn’t guarantee that, but I don’t know if you get that with the desktop app either, when used with Wine.

2·28 days agoNot entirely sure what MPRIS is, but the Qobuz app does respond to media keys (Play/Pause, Next, etc.) on my keyboard under KDE.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•I wish the Steam Controller used AA batteriesEnglish
7·2 months agoOne of the nice things with Xbox 360 controllers were the rechargeable battery packs. By default, the controllers used 2 AAs, but you could instead use a battery pack. Just remove the AA battery cover, pop in the rechargeable battery, and that’s it. You could then connect a cable to the controller to recharge the battery. And, if the battery happened to be empty (or dead because of old age), you could just replace it with 2 AAs, and continue playing. Some of 8bitdo’s controllers uses (or used) the same design, but they come with a rechargeable battery pack in the box.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Valve has ‘a pretty good idea’ of what Steam Deck 2 is going to be, but it’s not ready yet [VGC]
25·2 months agoMy guess is, they want it to use ARM processors for better battery life. They might be using Frame as a kind of test platform for that, and when FEX is good enough, they can go ahead with Deck 2.

551·2 months agoI mostly agree with that, but the problem with Bazzite and CachyOS is that they are made by small teams. Distributions made by small teams might die because of some small problem, like a key member of the team being unable to continue with the project. Bazzite team, for example, earlier this year said that they would stop maintaining the OS if a proposed change to Fedora would go through, because their team wouldn’t be able cope with the change.
SteamOS on the other hand, being developed by a company with a lot of money to throw into things, is much more resilient OS, and I think that makes it better for larger masses of users.

I have bought tea from them for a few years now. The majority of their tea is unscented and some traditionally scented teas. Their teas are from different Asian countries, but I think most are from China and Japan. They also have Tea Club for €19 per month, which gets you 2 packs of tea (80 g total) of either light, dark or a mix of light and dark and a live YouTube tasting session/video. And for the past three years, they have also had a tea Christmas calendar, which has about 5g tea each day plus a daily live YouTube tasting session/video.
