Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you use for your personal photos/videos backups? Cloud service? Local external drive? Etc
2·16 days agoI have this. I have Syncthing on our phones as well to backup our images to desktop, configured as when I move the images away on the desktop it makes room on the phone.

1·16 days agoOh man, another case of tomfoolery? I should have expected off it already :D
This post made me realize I should start planning my migration from gmail to other one. Preferably where I can use my own domain so I’ll never be tied down to a service provider ever again.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Lasers, or, The effects of overhyped technology
7·17 days agoAh, I can relate to this. In 2024 I started my studies with AI because of this hype, and it’s been a constant downwards spiral in faith to the technology. Ignorance was bliss. Luckily my studies were more focused to classical machine learning like machine vision and such.
A valiant response. Too bad it might have been wasted on the recipient, but at least I got a chuckle. :)

As the owner I should have the decision to drive while charging
I mean… Why did the God not protect the baby anymore? Is the crucifix a required magic catalyst or something to get Gods protection? Do we have any known cases where the catalyst was not needed?
I think I’m closer to solving the riddle of Gods power…

News@lemmy.world•California Wants to Put License Plates on E-Bikes and Slow Them Down. Cyclists Are Not Happy About It
212·1 month agoIt’s not that bad. Little accountability never hurt anyone!
If I had to have a dismissive opinion though, if the license plates do not increase safety and reduce bike thefts, then it’s just another meaningless cog on the machine.

As with everything, I’ll consider it after launch. I know it should be good, but I’ve been burned too many times already.
