  • They’ll publish anything these days. His “book” is just a shitty middle school level essay and by his age he ought to be ashamed to so confidently state such an opinion in those terms. This pathetic sophomore is meant to uphold the constitution, not some religious dogma.

What people will rightly take away from this deplorable example is that supreme court judges are nothing special. They’re not more moral, more intelligent, nor do they hold greater understanding of the constitution than anyone else who actually read the full document. And such a takeaway is called disgrace. His actions and existence damage the reputation of the court.

The only reason I wouldn’t want him to resign in shame (if he can experience shame) is that his successor will be appointed for loyalty to trump and not qualifications, which is definitely a side grade to the current state.

  • I grant you, enforcing unjust laws isn’t ideal. But pull your head out of your ass, the air up there is killing your brain!

There’s worse ways to enforce bad laws. The rights of the accused is an older and more powerful revolutionary idea than whatever toothless shit “state oppression of the working class” is meant to represent, though it isn’t clear you understand the shape behind that shadow.

You’re embodying the joke here. Don’t let the fantasy of a perfect world that exists in your dream blind you to the realities of the one we’re in.

  • It’s happening in Germany. It’s happening in France. It’s happening in Australia and Canada and Italy and Japan and pretty much everywhere. Somehow, in spite of a proven record of failure and catastrophic consequences, right wing ideology continues to grow like a cancer across the globe.

The US got to this point with help from foreign billionaires, as well as domestic ones. Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, Sundar Pichai… The grift is global and putting your vitriol toward those who might take your side will leave you friendless when it happens to you where you live.

People gave up instead of showing up and that was a costly mistake.

Many people mean well, even if they live in bad places. Have the grace to encourage them to keep resisting, even if that resistance is as small as protest or even voting, for your own sake.
