False. Europe is working on providing security guarantees for Ukraine without USA.

Absolutely he has already done that. And I just saw a new speech he held for Canadians about the government plans for 1926, and there was a lot of things to help the average Canadians economy. It seems like a very active and qualified government that is actually working for the people.

Yes in the speech he mention that Canada has made 20 international deals on trade and/or security.
For instance Canada has made both a trade deal with EU, but Canada has also joined the EU SAFE partnership. Which is about development and appropriation of military equipment. Designed to speed up defense independence of USA.
But 20 such agreements in a year is insane, because usually such agreements take many years to negotiate. And although some had been negotiated for years already, it is no coincidence that they all suddenly fall in place within a year of Trump taking the presidency of USA.

Absolutely Trump is the reason other countries don’t trust the American economy anymore, I’m from Denmark and we have already had Pension funds selling off American assets.

The point was that despite USA being the bigger economy, and threatening Canada almost constantly for the entirety of 2025, it’s very well done of the Canadian government and people to withstand that pressure, and not just being able to stabilize the economy against it, but to even grow the economy at a reasonable rate, AND at the same time keeping the Canadian dollar strong.

But yes I think for many Greenland was the last straw for many, he simply went too far when he threatened to invade Greenland claiming nobody can stop him.
The Greenland situation may also have been a factor in why Mark Carney made the speech he did. As USA invading Greenland would obviously destroy NATO, and some claim it’s already destroyed by the mere threat by USA to invade a trustworthy unprovoking long term NATO ally completely without a shadow of a valid reason.

Awesome, I’ve seen bloggers warn that the amazing speech held by Mark Carney at Davos put the Canadian economy at risk, because it angered Trump.
But he was 100% right, and the invitation that Canada is the international reliable partner, looks a lot like when Ursula von der Leyen declared EU open for business, has probably hit home internationally way better than Trumps threats of taxing Canadian goods 100% as punishment for making a deal with China.

It’s absolutely amazing that Canada is able to hold their own against USA, and not be harmed much by it, while the American economy seems on the brink of tanking, and already has lower employment rates/job creation than before Trump became President.

Opinion polls show that Trump still has about 33% support! Taking away healthcare from people, threatening USA’s nearest and strongest allies, supporting Putin’s war against Ukraine, damaging the economy badly, abandoning hundreds of international agreements, the atrocities of ICE and threatening democracy in USA, being obviously corrupt using DOJ to go after people who have opposed him. And this list isn’t even half complete of the shit he is doing, and STILL about 33% support him!
I guarantee that it’s easy to find another 18% that still support some of the above shit, and that absolutely means they are evil.

Actually at 100% humidity the highest survivable temperature for a human is 35 C° wet bulb temperature.
But that is with everything else being perfect, being healthy, in the shade, and perfectly hydrated, and zero physical activity.
A more realistic maximum survivable wet bulb temperature is closer to 30 C°. But 35 C° is the absolute maximum, where above that everybody dies.

China has been working intensely for at least 2 decades to catch up, and they are still about a decade behind!

Netherlands has ASML which is a huge advantage for European independent manufacturing, but even with that it’s an insanely expensive investment to make a realistic competitor to AMD, Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Broadcom etc. because they have loads of patents that are hard to avoid, and they have decades of know how. This is not even accounting for the software infra structure that would have to be built almost from scratch.
Chip production is a global enterprise, and even USA isn’t independent anymore. They depend on ASML and TSMC for their most popular products in AI, Smartphones, servers, laptops and desktops. And more and more Arm is taking over from Intel/AMD.

What we may be able to do would be using Arm and have TSMC help us with manufacturing. But to make such a project succeed is not an easy thing, we had European computer companies in the 70’s and 80’s that were heavily subsidized by governments that dominated home markets for several European countries, and they essentially all failed against international competition.
So what we risk if we were required to use a European product funded by EU/European governments would be to have to use an overpriced under-performing technology, that would be a millstone around the neck of all of Europe, making Europe not catch up, but instead fall further behind.

But I doubt they will, because Americans are indoctrinated to think they have the best democracy in the world, when in reality it’s a highly dysfunctional democracy.
