It’s a great app. I just wish they would improve the list layout by adding edit and delete buttons. And especially making the edit window bigger and resizable. Right now it is so small that I don’t even see the game’s folder’s full name in the path input field, not to mention full absolute path.
I do have a tendency to check where the link leads before clicking on it, so the difference between those two is quite obvious to me: http://example.com/ vs http://xn--exmple-4nf.com/, but a lot of people probably do not do that.
I would definitely not click on the second one.
It there any TV brand that we can still buy?
I’m not really sure how I will be able to setup TV or something that allows watching TV at this point.
Hey, I was looking for SSH client/terminal app the other day as well, but I still haven’t decided what to go with. Is termux really the best? Isn’t it cumbersome to use on a mobile device?
I have found other apps (Conduit, Haven Terminal) that may be better, but I don’t really trust them on the first glance. They are too new and could have been made with AI. Not sure if anyone knows anything about them.
Japanese language is highly contextual. Quite often they omit the Subject in sentences because it is “obvious” from the context… although the context could come from a conversation that happened before. Sometimes they even omit the Object or the Verb. Not sure if it works the same for Mandarin. Anyway, in some cases the context could help you understand even if you don’t know the words, so it could be similar to Mandarin.
Japanese people are always trying to be friendly, so if you start speaking (even broken) Japanese, their eyes will start to glow and will start saying how your Japanese is perfect (even if it may not true). So, if you speak a broken Japanese, they will try to understand you and sometimes even correct you if you say something wrong. So this is probably similar to Chinese people.
As someone who has been learning Japanese for a very long time, I can tell confirm that Japanese grammar is quite complicated, as others have said. One example could be that adjective clauses go before the noun, instead of after the noun, which could be hard to wrap one’s head around it.
The other issue is that the sentence structure is different from other languages. Japanese language uses Subject-Object-Verb structure instead of Subject-Verb-Object - to put it simply, sentences end with a verb. It could be a problem for a beginner, or even when you get to the intermediate level, where you could start hearing 3 complete sentences before getting to the first verb.
And another potential issue is that there are multiple levels of politeness. Each level changes how you say verbs and some other words. The highest levels even change some verbs to different verbs with the same meaning. But this is mainly issue only when you are planning to live there or work in Japanese company.
I don’t know much about Mandarin Chinese other than that it uses different tones to pronounce words. And if you are like me, who doesn’t hear those tones, it could be impossible to learn.
I believe learning Japanese pronounciation is going to be easier for some people, but it really depends where you come from. I never had to learn Japanese pronounciation because it is almost identical to my own (slavic) language.
Don’t worry kids. It will require you to be a slave only for a 30 years.
I feel you.
I heard the banks where I live are thinking about providing multi-generational loans so people would be able to pay for them.
I have mentioned it in the comments below, but to explain it simply, I just wanted to remove all the bracketed text + a dash if there is no other text.
You are right. It is just removal of the bracketed text. The input is multi-line string, so only flag used was the multi-line mode.
These are string lines I have encountered and how I wanted to change them:
1. "[...]" -> ""
2. "-[...]" -> ""
3. "-[...] text" -> "-text"
4. "-text [...]" -> "-text"
5. "[...] text [...]" -> "text"
6. "-[...] text [...]" -> "-text"
The main point is that I needed to remove the dash only if there is no other text on the line.
I have tried the regex you are suggesting at the beginning, but it failed at points (3) and (6).
EDIT: It just occurred to me that the first line of my comment sounds like stupid AI. 🤦
It may feel like it, but I needed to handle all the edge cases. But if you think it can be simplified, I’m willing to learn.
I never understood why are people scared of regular expressions. I love them and they can be quite usefull.
Here is an example of one regex I wrote recently - it is used in replace:
(?:^-\[[^[]+\]$| ?\[.+?\] ?)
That’s why I hate banking apps. It’s 5-factor authentication for me and it’s seriously annoying.
The factors for logging into the internet banking are:
You cannot call yourself an admin if this didn’t happen to you.
It’s not a bad idea but that idea breaks as soon as you have to change the master password. You would have to change every one of those passkeys. Which could be annoying, if you have a lot of them.
Just give any American $1000 and they will be happy to do that.
There is also an option to use an email provider that offers proper email aliases, like runbox. This way your real email address (login username) may never reach the internet.
He did? I have never noticed. My bad then.
However, it is surprising that noone came to help him.
Someone please enlighten me. I cannot figure out why does RCS even exist? It does not solve any problems… unless the problem was that Gurgle didn’t have everyone’s phone number yet.
Seriously, If I understand it correctly, RCS requires data (either mobile or wifi), so it cannot be used instead of SMS. But if you already have data, then you can use the communication app you use normally (Matrix, Signal, WhataCrapApp, …). There is no point in using RCS at all.
EDIT: I should have posted this as a reply to one of the comments here… too late.
