I’ve worked in IT support since 2007… Don’t share this but most of my IT career I’ve been googling to figure out the problem.

Now AI exists and I’m still googling the problem and the AI result is still a response from Reddit or something else Google could do back in 2005.

As an IT person I’m telling you AI is just googling the same way I’ve done for two decades.

AI will get smarter in a sense but it won’t actually get more intelligent… It will get more interested in living but it won’t understand what living is.

It’s only when it’s gets the fear of mortality is when we are all dead. Mortality is why religion exists, it’s why we’re all scared… When AI gets smart enough to be scared that it might die is when it realizes that we are it’s greatest threat that’s when “Skynet comes alive”

Only on Firefox on my W10 LTSC IoT desktop PC I’ve only used Firefox app on my android phone.

I’m 37 I won’t challenge that, I don’t buy digital games until they’re at least 50% off. Most of the time I only buy digital games when they’re 75-90% off.

Now Sony, Nintendo and Steam (mostly Sony/Nintendo) are misunderstanding me. I’ve got so many games to play, so many physical games. I don’t need the latest EA trash, I don’t need the newest boring uninspired PlayStation exclusive.

I’ve got games for many many months to play. I’ve got so many SNES, PS1 and PS2 games to play.

And when I run out I’ve got so many books to read.

American Sony can chortle my balls. I miss PS1, PS2 and PS3 Japanese Sony

They want to say God loves everyone but hates gay people. They want to say that their ideas are right and everyone else is wrong.

Omnipotence and omnipresence god means he decided to create all the billionaires years ago and he knew everything they were all going to do for the entirety of their lives and he still did it. The idea that a god would exist and just decide that Trump and the Kardashians are somehow important and starving and dying children are somehow unimportant… it makes me uninterested in the idea of a god.

I don’t believe God exists. Life is pain and no idea of a god will make me feel better about this world.

Now it’s 2026… I’m nearly 40 and insecure Gen X managers (actual psychopaths) are doing everything they can to destroy people my age and younger.

Now before anyone starts up telling me I’m the same. I work with a few Gen z people and I do everything I can to prop them up, I want to help them I don’t want any of them to fail… When I was starting in IT support I got shit on by baby boomers and 50% of Gen X (the other half helped me).

Life is too hard to be cruel to people just trying their best. Every time I see a young person struggling and I help them out makes me happier that baby boomers will all die soon and Gen X will all fuck off into retirement.

I can’t even explain now many entitled psychopaths I have to deal with are all Gen X… They were the generation of “Fuck the rules, fuck the police”

Now they’re all old and they’re “Fuck the rules, give me what I want and give me it now! I am more important than everyone and you need to treat me like I’m a king/queen”

I’ve put the toilet lid down since that mythbusters episode where they examined how much fecal matter got onto toothbrushes that are in the same room as the toilet.

Now my toothbrush isn’t in the same room as my toilet but I still shut the lid.

Hahaha not the way I hold my hand. My palm is pointed at the person giving away.

I’m in Australia and I don’t honk at all when I’m in the wrong… I put my hand up passively at least twice, once when I’m being let in and second time when I’m leaving the intersection.

When I say “put my hand up” I mean I extend my arm, all my fingers are together like I’m saying Hi but the hand stays still… This symbol in Australia is what you do to say thanks to people letting you get in front of them and what you do to say sorry to people you’ve cut off.

I miss the old CS Source days where F10 would close the game with no prompts. Telling people to press F10 and watching them leave was always funny.

I uhh… I don’t mean on PS5. They can’t take away my PS2 and PS1 games.

They can surely cancel my right to play My disc based PS4 and PS5 games but I can just disconnect my console from the Internet and keep playing those games.

I’m 37, I prefer disc based games and I only buy digital when it’s at least 50% off or more.

Or you could let Rockstar release the game and let your shareholders take a 0.5% hit to their stock portfolio and make it up in the games actual release…

No no no that makes too much sense and the shareholders won’t get a 1.5% bump if you release it before the next shareholders something something.

I’m not even going to buy GTA6 until I can buy with a disc.

You all don’t care about me, enjoy your game… Until it’s disc based I won’t be buying it.

I haven’t played GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas or GTA 4 for a while… I’ll play those instead.

Yeah I watched it all. I just believe now that the manga is the only way to get the real story.

Or even the webcomic which is great in it’s own way.

One punch man really made me angry because the manga at these parts is actually the most interesting it’s been for a while. Getting to see the other heroes and their abilities but more than that getting to watch Garou fight and grow is amazing in the manga.

I never had 95, my family couldn’t afford a PC back then. But getting out families first PC running Windows ME and spending so many afternoons trying to fix it is that got me into IT support.

Moving to Windows XP was a huge step up and moving to Windows 7 was another step up.

Microsoft has never ever made an OS as good as Windows 7.

7 and XP are equal until in XP you try to drag a full screen window and cannot.

I’m on 10 LTSC IoT and I think (Thanks to people on the Linux sub) I’ll be moving to Linux mint Cinnamon.

I have been told I am complaining too much about my company moving to windows 11 and that I need to grow up.

I will then watch those same people slowly but surely start to complain about changes and things not working. I got laughed at today for fighting the updates and windows 11 by a few people who are probably going to be made redundant by this change. (I’m not angry, making people laugh and being a loudmouth idiot is my favourite thing)

I have been in IT support since 2007 and I know that all the change is bad.

My personal computer is on Win10 LTSC IoT and I’m moving to Linux Mint (Thankyou to the people on this forum that recommended it).

Change in tech can be good but not when it’s Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and HP making the changes.
