Israel has already possibly surpassed Warsaw ghetto massacre numbers with no end in sight. And after the Warsaw Uprising the numbers increased dramatically. Not only that, they’re trying to instigate a regional war to settle more of the Middle East and Northern Africa, just like Germany did with Europe. Protests provide a radicalization opportunity, an opportunity to seize narratives, and an opportunity for organizations to connect and gain new members. They’re pretty much useless for affecting the government, as others have pointed out, but that’s kind of the point. When hundreds of thousands of people are marching in the street for months and the government is still saying “Yeah, we don’t care. We’re just gonna keep bombing brown kids instead of fixing homelessness” then that’s kind of hard to ignore for people who are just coming into their political consciousness.

And even then, Israel (and the West in general) has completely and permanently lost any facade of “civility.”. The aging imperialists in charge are trying to recycle the same strategies from Korea, Vietnam, Panama, East Timor, and so on, except this time the entire world is watching and remembering. While things are pretty bleak and are bound to become more violent in the shorter term, the writing really is on the wall for the yankee empire.
So far this decade seems to be defined by Western empire maneuvering and provoking its victims to “attack first.” We saw it with Russia and we saw it with the Palestinian resistance.

The protests for Palestine have also persisted for over two months now, similar to the 2020 George Floyd protests. They may be slowing some, but they are still happening. If anything, people are likely being recruited into actual organizational and educational work and finding sustainable levels of involvement, which while less sexy, is on the whole more crucial than chanting in the street.
Developing a happy outlook isn’t easy. It’s a skill that you need to practice and cultivate over time. Recognize that rage-bait and fascist content is stirring up unproductive emotions in you and that you do have some agency over which thoughts you choose to identify with and give attention to.

No it’s not. He’s willfully ignoring the mountains of evidence that the Nazis did indeed deliberately target European Jewish people and almost wiped their population out. They targeted other groups, sure. But antisemitic conspiracies were an explicit part of their entire ideology. Yeah, the legacy of the Holocaust is distorted and weaponized by the West, but his statement is one of Holocaust denial.
