Joo, tää nyt ei ole mikään ihme kun Suomessakin on päätetty ottaa Reaganilanen talouspolitiikka ihailun kohteeksi. Jos maailmassa ei ole mitään muita kuin taloudellisia arvoja, niin totta kai kaikki kulttuuri joka edustaa mitään muuta kuin kaikkein aivojamädättävintä populismia hiljalleen katoaa.
Sitä en tosin edelleenkään ymmärrä että minkä takia pelkästään musiikki jota varten tarvitaan satoja ihmisiä kalliissa puvuissa on sitten se ainoa mitä pitää puolustaa.

11·17 days agoWhy, none of that matters. Stock markets run on the hopes and dreams of investors. That’s how guys like Sam Altman can get away with evaluating their company at $1 trillion despite the bottom line showing them doing nothing but wasting funds.

The higher the number, the more the stock goes up when they announce it. Should be opposite though really if these guys are incompetent enough to lose $13 trillion because of a single pirate.

1·25 days agoErich Fromm expressed similar ideas, though far more well-developed, in The Art of Loving. Can’t help but feel that anyone who thinks that hunter-gatherers were less communally oriented than people these days hasn’t met a single capitalist in their life.

3·1 month agoTo be fair, I’m not sure he really is living it down. In his recent book he recommended more nationalism as the solution to the political tensions currently present in Europe.
4·1 month agoWith the caveat that I’m just a random idiot on the internet who has never even considered building a custom distro — seems like the most reliable way to go about it would be to build such a thing on top of a declarative distro such as Guix or NixOS. It should require less maintenance effort to make sure all packages are compatible as they’re updated, in case you decide to publish your work. Nixbook is one example of this. Someone on Reddit was also making a case for reproducible builds in scientific computing. A Docker container could also work if you can do without a GUI.
You don’t publicly demand access to classified files of another sovereign nation state. There’s only one world leader I can think of who’d be dumb enough to do a thing like that.
